I frustrated with the combat system.When I strike enemies with a hard strike they don't even react.This was something I was ok with at first,but now drives me insane!I know occasionally enemies do stagger,but alot of the time there is simply no reaction at all.I think this is something they need to fix on a future game for this series.What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are as long as their health goes down. That's all that matters.

I'm about to experiment with a mod called duel-realism. Apparently it makes combat much harder because enemies stagger less, ambush you, blocking eats away your stamina like crazy, and enemies try to flank you, react faster, etc. I'm not too crazy about the nerfed health regeneration and lack of ability to land more than one archery sneak attack so I doubt I would try this mod as an assassin.
