Accomplishment

I know everyone talks about wanting to be king of skyrim and feeling like that would be a good reward for all that we've done. So lets do that some more :)

So you're king. But while I want there to be some throne time I also want to work to build the kingdom and make it shiny. Or if I'm a bad guy make It [censored]. Lol idk. It might sound kinda like fable but that game got some things right.

I just don't have that feeling I got from oblivion. With the guilds or main quest. Upgrading the dark brotherhood sanctuary was the closest thing to that feeling I've had so far. Also guild master perks.

I think most people hate the idea of becoming the high King or Queen. I am one of them.

Bethesda is better off developing actually meaningful content for this game.

From what I've seen, most regulars on this forum dislike the idea of becoming High Queen/King. I find it completely unfeasible because my characters include a Bosmer, a Khajiit, a Redguard and an Imperial. From this bunch only the Imperial has any chance whatsoever to be High Queen, but it's still rather unlikely. Let's face it, in current circumstances ruling Skyrim makes sense only if you're a Nord.

This. There's a reason that the heroes of each game never become significant lore figures, and that's so that everyone's roleplay can be accommodated. But when you throw important titles at the player like King or Emperor, the anonymity of the player character is damaged, we become closer to a 'canon' character, and worst of all, the spirit of roleplay can be lost.

a redguard kinda has a chance because they are human. but still Becoming royalty is a bad idea.

Heroes don't become important in lore? I guess sheogorath doesn't exist in the game you're playing. Lol

Okay maybe not king queen but something!

In my game the Redguard isn't a Dragonborn, so there's really no reason why Nords would want him to be their High King.
I guess every Dragonborn of a human race has a chance to be Queen/King, but only if the Empire wins - if Ulfric does, then he's the obvious candidate for High King, even before the Dragonborn. Unless you intend to shout everyone into submission, which is an option too

I was going to mention him too :P But it only works because who your character was before doesn't matter and is never revealed. It's possible to do the same with queen or empress, but it's not so easy.

For some, it's all about the transient tomb raiding hobo lifestyle.
But I suppose it's a trade off. If I'm allowed my hate for Shezzarine crap, people are allowed their hate for the idea of being High King.

It is best to keep the dragonborns identity unknown. If he/she became Jarl, king/queen or emperor it would then ruin the canon DB. if your character was a male argonian and someone else character was a female nord, if the lore said the dragonborn became king of skyrim. then the person who has a female character it wouldnt be right.

Also people talk about the nerevarine or however you spell that quite a bit. The thing is, the player is a big deal. In every game you're unique and the only person that can handle the current threat. So if you save a kingdom I think they should be a bit more greatful! Or just do something! I know we all like to pretend the character is different but my main Dragonborn character is kinda feeling unappreciated. We're not just some dude

But you're the Dragonborn! Of course you'll go down in history, you saved Nirn!!

Though I do see your point. Being the Emporer is for ESO.

You can always use neutral words. 'The Dragonborn ruler', or something. It's all too easy to make it sound unnatural and awkward, though.

From a roleplaying point of view, my Dragonborn doesn't really want too much attention. Sure he basks in the celebrity, but it also usually means he's the go-to guy for anyone who might have forgotten where they put their sandals, and fear they may have been lost in a tomb they for some reason visited. With great power comes great responsibility, and right now, my Dragonborn likes to think he's retired.
-Single handedly circumvented the end of the world.
-Was instrumental in Ulfric being a ragdoll in the Palace of Kings and making everyone in Windhelm THAT much grumpier than they already are.
-Solved the Thieves Guilds economic problem.
-Became grand pooba of the mages college, after stopping a Thalmor from playing with a big ball.
-Stopped his predecessor from returning from a daedric realm.
-Has been up to his ass in Falmer and Vampires.
-Has personally resolved at least fifty civil disputes and thefts and missing item/peoples cases.

If that doesn't give leave for a man to just hang up his sword and be a family man for a while, then I don't know what is.

Yes, I know ESO is set in the Second Era.
I was agreeing with you point.
