Hello guys,

Whats up? Happy sunday. Do you guys think playing with headphones on is the best way to play? Why, or why not?

Thanks guys, Peace!

Yes it is alot better. I use a GX1 headset.

I love using it because-
Taking the HUD off and listening out for enemies.
I sometimes jump when a an animal attacks me from behind.
I feel like I am actually there.

I think almost all games are better with headphones. For me the alternative is justmy TV, no nice surround sound speakers. So without headphones it can be hard to tell where noises are coming from. There's no contest. If you don't play with headphones, [censored] get a pair stat!

I have both. I play with the headphones only if I don't want to disturb the neighbors in the next county.

Personally, there is no substitute for a tweaked surround set up. Directional noise is not an issue. I often catch myself actually looking over my shoulder

I have my subwoofer set up in the ideal location of the center of the room, under the coffee table. You literally feel the game throughout your body. Couple this with the rumble of a controller and it just intensifies the effects.

When a Dragon lands, the ground literally shakes and the windows rattle in the sills. You can't get that from headphones.

I feel most audio is best heard through headphones. Except vinyl. That's best heard through large speakers

Most definitely! I'm currently using my xp 400 turtle beaches. I have my hud cut off so I have to use the surround sound to tell when I'm in danger. Doesn't get much more immersive than that.

My experiences with Turtlebeaches have been bad :P
Mostly because I bought the low-end ones.
I have a Trident 720+ now, great headphones.

Headphones really make the game better. You can hear the birds chirping in the distance while you hear a waterfall to your right and an elk grazing to your left.

Even better.

Sadly, I don't believe either Astro or Tritons are on PS3.

I couldn't agree more. My sub is not as ideal as yours, but at the volume I play, it gets the job done.
Cheers!

First time I played Skyrim at Eurogamer, prior to release, they gave everyone Turtlebeaches and I loved it. Bought a pair because of it and never looked back. I on occasion play via the TV (normally to listen to the door/phone :P) but headphones I would highly recommend.

It is absolutely better. As with several other people in this thread, I use some Turtle Beach head phones and love it.

They are.
Tritton 720+ is the one I'm currently using.
