CK Crashes generating Max Height Data for World

I have a worldspace 64*64 (Standard World) with nice rolling hills and 103K trees placed.

The CK always crashes when generating the max height data for world....and as you can imagine I really don't want to generate the data on a cell by cell basis /mental (Although this works fine).

I have a very beefy rig,with 16GiG Ram etc, so that's not the issue for me. Does anyone have any insights into something that could cause my problem.

It always crashes at a different cell ... even one it's done on a previous attempt....kinda frustrating.

Edit : Anyone know what the Edge Fall-Off (World Units) box is for in the region editor? Usually says 1024
