So before I even downloaded HF I read that part of it includes random events like bandits breaking in to your home and kidnapping your wife. This never happened to me. Is it because my wife is a housecarl and she can handle a measily group of bandits?

I guess it could be. My steward is a Iona and Jenassa is my wife. I've had one attack by bandits since I moved them both to Lakeview a while back. They both beat the bandits down before I could draw my axe.

I did have skeevers in the basemant, but I consider that alchemy ingredients.

Ive had giants attack my cow, have had bandits but no kidnapping, and skeevers.

I had giants visit, but that was prior to having any animals on the property. None since I've purchased critters. No kidnappings here either, on any character in any of the three houses.
