I don't know if this is a bug with Hearthfire itself or that it is just my follower but if anyone can offer any advise for help then that would be great.

I brought one of my followers to my new plot of land and then asked them to become my Steward; they accepted which resulted in them leaving my service and began to walk around my grounds.

Now whenever I speak to them, I get all of the Steward options but I no longer have an option for them to follow me.

My Steward at my other house has the same options but also has a "Follow Me" option.

Does anyone know of a way around this issue? In case it makes a differences; the NPC is Illia.

I don't know if all the Stewards are able to be Followers after they become a Steward.

Does not say either way what happens to their follower status when they become Stewards

Is there an option then to sack someone as Steward?

Or at least be able to hire a different Steward to see if I can get them back as a follower?
