So I was looking through Marcos' inventory earlier, at the things he carries. Not equipment, but other stuff.

He's got his "chronicle" (represented by a copy of the mage's guild charter. This makes me smile, since he hates the charter so much)
A quill and an inkwell, for writing his chronicle.
Silver knife, fork, plate, and glass, so he need never dine with inferior cutlery.
A few welkynd stones, he ponders them from time to time.
"Sorcerer's Lantern" a silver amulet enchanted with light.
One or two bottles of expensive wine, for when he's had a particularly good day.
And his Mage's Staff of Paralysis. He doesn't use it, but he's playing the role of dutiful guildmember, so he always has it with him.

Which got me wondering; what do your characters carry?
