Hearthfire is broken and needs to be fixed

This past week I emailed gamesas technical support to complain about the fact that I was not able to purchase the plot of land in Falkreath. It is a problem anyone who completed the Dark Brotherhood quests are having. As a result, unless gamesas addresses the issue, I and anyone who completed the Dark Brotherhood quests, will always be missing the "Land Baron" and "Master Architect" achievements. As a completionist, this is unacceptable.

I received the following response from gamesas Tech Support:

Unfortunately, this is not a bug. Skyrim works on a favor system, and killing the Jarl's steward lowers your favor to the point where he will not
sell you land. Unfortunately, the only way to rectify this situation is to load a save prior to killing Helvard.

First of all, I understand the favor system and that killing the Jarl's steward lowers my favor. Second of all, who in their right mind would have a save point from that far back in the game?

My response was:

If that's the case, why would the developers choose a Jarl that might not favor all of the players? This was a DLC, which is usually played "after" the fact and the main focus of the Hearthfire was to build a house.

Why wouldn't the programmers chose a Jarl that all players could purchase all 3 plots and build all 3 houses?

That's like making an achievement involving Skald after he's been exiled. It just doesn't make any sense.

It also doesn't make any sense that the developers would expect any gamer to start a new game, assuming they didn't have a save point prior to killing Helvard, and make all of the correct decisions just to buy a plot of land. Talking about taking the fun out of playing the DLC.

I know from reading the forums and other achievement websites, that I'm not the only one with this dilemma. There are many other players who killed Helvard during the Dark Brotherhood quests who cannot get these two achievements and that's not right.

By the way, this is not the first post complaining about this. A search of "Falkreath" will result in a dozen or more topics concerning this same issue.

Am I the only one who see this as poor programming and should be fixed?
