However recently while playing FO:NV I realized my heart was pounding in my chest. I was afraid for my character. I had a level one character sneaking past the quarry with a single stealthboy. The screen said [Caution] which didn't worry me that much, I expected that. But then I heard breathing. The deathclaw was breathing on my neck, so close that the breathing was coming in through my base and making the room vibrate. It felt like it was breathing on 'my' neck. I didn't increase my speed, I knew the deathclaw would hear my footsteps and eat me. I also couldn't slow down, if it touched me... my bones would become tooth picks. So I just kept on slowly moving step by step by step. It followed me all the way past the deathclaw's normal territory and luckily got distracted by a powder ganger fighting a gecko. Poor poor powder ganger, he didn't have a good day. My stealthboy ran out right after the deathclaw charged off so I sprinted for dear life while he was chewing on gecko and a very unlucky escaped con.
Anyone else had a moment of fear while playing FO?
