1.9 Fixed 50 Bugs & Added 10,000 New Ones

Post » Mon Apr 22, 2013 1:42 am

I've been playing this game since launch & I have NEVER had so many issues & things preventing me from playing as I've had since installing 1.9. Now, I want to preface this rant (that no one, but me cares about) by saying: I'm in the 360, the game is installed to my HDD, I routinely clear game & system caches, and I only keep 2 save files. Alrighty then... The following is a list of things I believe 1.9 added to Skyrim -- at least in my experience.

-Freezing. Freezing has always been an issue in Skyrim, but not like this. Freezing has expanded from loadscreens to combat & walking.

-Ysolda's mammoth tusk quest & subsequent marriage option won't trigger.

-Items displayed in owned homes disappear. I've lived in every player owned home in the game & NEVER once lost an item prior to installing 1.9. Since, however, I've lost multiple unique items in multiple homes.

-Some bodies & loose items are unlootable. You can see them, but the option to pick them up just isn't there.

-Dragon frequency has increased. Maybe I read the patch notes wrong, but I thought dragon encounters after completion of the main quest would decrease... nope! Quite the opposite, actually.

-Animals & enemies spawn after fast travel by falling from the sky to their deaths. Never once saw this in my 500-600 total hours of playing prior to 1.9. Now, half of my fast travels start with something falling to its death near me.

-Dragons getting stuck in the sky. I've seen a handful of dragons just hovering in a spot breathing frost or fire, but not moving.

-Mannequins move. I've seen mannequins in places they're not supposed to be before, but I've never seen them fold their arms, look around or even climb back on their pedestal. This is commonplace now.

-SEVERE frame rate drops especially post fast travel & inside player owned homes. I'm talking 1 or 2 frames per second for about 9 or 10 seconds.

There are more, but I'm already sick of typing. And I know many of you will try to blame me, my console or the disc, but I assure you, I was playing with relatively few issues prior to installing 1.9 & now I want to throw the game away more than I want to play it and it's not because I'm bored with the game, sick of the game or dislike the game. I'd be more than happy to spend hundreds of more hours playing... if the game let me, that is.

Rant over. Get gooder. Pics or it didn't happen. Reload an earlier save. Cool story bro.

Must be.

I haven't gotten any problems. If anything, it has improved my game drastically. And I'm on PS3, that's saying something.

Recently i have been experiencing minor FPS drop. dunno if thats from 1.9 its just my PC getting too old. i have also encountered dead dragons landing from the sky when i fast travel. i didn't have this bug before so it could be from 1.9 as well. People dying with their eyes open is not fixed for me yet. well most of the npcs i kill die with itheir eyes closed. but for example if the npc was already did, like a random encounter or something the eyes are still open.

These are the only bugs i have. Also its worth mention ever since i got Hearthfire i have been getting random CTD's all the time, to the point where i had to turn autosave on so i wont lose my progress.

Don't forget the lipsync problem.
The only reason I updated was because of mods and (at the time) anticipating future DLC. If neither of those were the case I would have stayed with 1.8. So much more stable.
