Recently I started having a problem with my saves.

Went back into the game and loaded up my most recent save - discovered I simply could not get a save to happen - CTD. Finally, went back a couple of saves and went to different location, different cell I assume, and was fine.

Problem is, this is happening again. What is up and what can I do? I'd hate to lose a chunk of progress and new goodies.

BTB, I never use Quick Save.

Anyone have any idea?

Are you running mods?

Are you looking at a corpse when you save? Although it might have only happened to me but when i played the PC version my game would crash if i tried to load a game that had a corpse visible on the screen no matter where i was.

No kidding? That is one weird glitch!

Yes, I have mods. And the same mods have given me no problems. The Save=CTD problems did not occur after adding a new mod.

Ref corpses, if this is serious, no corpses in sight - happens with a lot of different situations.

the only thing that worked on me is to blow yourself with explosives like grenades or bootlecap mines (you have to shoot them ) or use a fat man

after the death sequence the game autoloads the last save and you can save again normaly for some time. the promblem will happen again after some time but repeat the same "blow yourself to pieces" strategy

make sure you turn off ALL the autosaves from options and dont use the quick save like every 10 seconds

its better to have on you like 4 bottlemines(for weight purpose) so when it happens on you again just load the last save unequip your armor (for lower damage reduction so that you can use less mines to kill yourself) equip a bottle mine throw it equip a weapon and shoot the mine to damage you repeat until you blow yourself to pieces and let the autoload loads you again in the game---you can now continue to save without crashing
