I think it's just me and my addiction to reading rangers apprentice, but I think Skyrim, and playing it seems a lot like being an Araulen Ranger, or, Will Treaty. Just think about from the beginning of the game. Your being sent to Skyrim by the Ranger Corps to resolve the rebellion but you arrive in a very strange way, by a prisoner wagon being sent to your execution. You then learn you are Dragonborn, and Crowley lets you stay in Skyrim longer than intended to solve it. And then comes the Vampire problem, and, with Skyrim being your " fief", you must get rid of the threat. Then you resume protecting Skyrim, taking jobs from the major cities court, taking on jobs from the dawnguard, and their are so many problems in Skyrim that I think Will Treaty, or Gilan, Halt or Horace are suitable for. That's just what I think, and if you've ever read the books, you'll see that playing Skyrim is a lot funner if you play it with a build like Will Treaty; Stealth, Archery( MOST IMPORTANT), and if you're Gillan, one handed since he's the best swordsman in the Ranger Corps. Duel wield daggers as a saxe knife and wield ONLY A LONGBOW. I know it's the worst bow in the game, but if you know how to use it, it's a very good, reliable and accurate bow. And, it's the standard issue for the Ranger Corps. If you want to use the " strikers " Halt uses, enchant a steel gauntlet with the " unarmed does more damage" enchatment, oh, and for your cloak, I'd wear novice robes, the Dark Brotherhood cowl ( if you are going to be playing as a ranger, you'll want to destroy them anyway), and Predators Grace as boots. Anyway, being a Ranger has and is the funnest playthrough I've done. If you've read the books, tell me what you think and see if I've left anything out.
