I want to modify my load order!

Post » Thu Apr 25, 2013 2:18 am

I currently have Skyrim and Dawnguard, and am trying to build a game around Requiem- the roleplaying overhaul. According to it, I need to have requiem load near to last on my mod list. I tried using Boss, but it doesn't recognize half my mods, so it shuffles them to the bottom. Wrye Bash doesn't really work for me- if I click on one mod and move it, it ends up moving a completely different mod all together! I.E I click and move 'hunterborn-frostfall patch' to be below frost fall, it ACTUALLY moves 'conveniant horses'. No matter how much I try, it won't move. So i can use the launcher data files, but the mod order i have set there isn't the actual mod order used- according to Tes5edit. This is driving me nuts. I've modded morrowind, oblivion, fo3 and fnv with no problem, but I can't even move a mod on this game. Please help.

The easiest way I found to edit load order, especially if you have a bunch of mods, is to go to the ...\AppData\Local\Skyrim folder and open plugins.txt. Just move stuff around as needed there and save the file.

Once you've done that, just copy/paste that list into the loadorder.txt. This last step isn't required for playing Skyrim, but is necessary for TES5edit to load your mods in the correct load list order.

I'd say with that list you're going to need Wrye Bash to merge leveled list anyway, so I would just go ahead and use Bash to rearrange your load order...after using BOSS.
