See, I bought this piece of crap game two years ago when they first started selling it (selling it without bothering to actually finish it, I might add), and I put up with it for about 6 months, waiting, waiting, waiting, ever hopeful that someday they might give a damn about their customers and maybe even TRY to fix what they shouldn't have sold in the first place....
6 long months of waiting, in vain, because they never DID bother to fix it.
So I put my most defective game away in a box, figuring some day, some year, I'll try again.... they'll HAVE to fix it sooner or later, right??!?!?
So now it's been two years... I have a seriously upgraded computer now, I figured that might turn the tide - maybe the game WILL work for me now - they might have even released a real patch by now!
I come to the site and note that the latest patch is 1.7 - that's a few higher than the last time I checked, so things are probably ok. I install the game, download the patch, and start playing. A few crashes, but really, who could ever play fallout 3 without the expectation of crashes? I note that they've released FIVE addons for the game, so if they've had enough free time on their hands to program and release completely unnecessary stuff like that, they MUST have fixed the essential issues.......... right? So I even considered buying the full edition of the game to get the addons.... sure, they screwed everybody around for two years, but really, how BAD of a company could bethesda possibly be? Would it be a really, really dumb thought to ever give them another cent?
Well, wasn't that a dumb thought?
NO, they have NOT fixed the god damned game.
I was a MORON to have thought that perhaps they might have.
Pay them money again after they hosed me so bad the first time...??!?!?
NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN AM I BUYING ANYTHING WHATSOEVER FROM BETHESDA!!!
NO, they didn't fix the game, YES, it crashes just as frequently now as it did two years ago, and YES, they went and made addons for a game they never bothered to even TRY to fix!!
what bethesda should seriously do is take a good hard look at what the good companies who hire good programmers and run their businesses professionally do - take a look at Blizzard, for example.
Blizzard makes games. Then they TEST them. And if they find serious, game killing errors in their games (and this may blow your minds) - instead of going ahead and SELLING a game they KNOW doesn't work - they FIX the game, THEN sell it!! Mind blowing concept, isn't it???
Program, test, fix, THEN release - not the bethesda way, which is program, release, then test... and then release additional content.
So, yeah, I'm pissed off.
Still.
