Tips for Newbies & Vetreans

Post » Sat May 04, 2013 6:53 pm

I always like having new Crysis 2 players, & hate seeing them get trolled and melee glitched only to trade the Amazing game in...

I have put together Some "need to know tips"
that hopefully make their experience more enjoy able & more complex pointers so everyone can learn ^_^

Any other tips would be appreciated as I will update this post.

1- Always Uncloak before Firing your weapon

2-Turning up you FX volume to hear foot steps and jumps (Surrounded sound head phones really help)

3- Turn Up your sensitivity!

4- Try not to use power jumps as they drain suit energy very quickly

5- If you try to slide in armor mode, It will not work!

6-Sliding towards an enemy automatically melees them (both good & bad)

7-When falling from high heights try not to use armor mode as it makes an animation that leaves you vulnerable to several seconds(like air stomp)

8-When in combat Always try to activate armor mode

9- (Interesting fact) You can stealth kill in water

10- If melee glitcher (s) are present in match Leave ASAP (or C4 em :p)

11- Gauss Attachments and Gauss rifle, when aimed at Ceph gunship pod will destroy it within 3 direct shots

12- If stealth enhance is not at level 2 avoid going into direct light (more visible shadow)

13-Taging enemy's Help the team Lots if your sniping

14- (strange fact) tag and tea bag 10 enemy's to get morning tea dog tag

15- When the grenade warning is on your screen avoid jumping And sprint to lower ground or far away

16- Avoid nano suit jammers (first I though they where shields :p )

17- If you radar get fuzzy There is an enemy with in 15-20 meters of you

18- when a team mate dies, most likely there are enemy's still there

19- take the least traveled route ( Allows you to flak and sneak up behind the enemy team

20- Energy Transfer also works When you have a support bonus active (Gunship & or orbital strike) Gives you extra energy ^_^

21- If you jump from any high place instead of using armor mode & getting stunned look for a close tree or post. This allows you to deflect off the post or tree as your falling & receive no damage (lots of places on parking deck) (Thanks to War Spirit)

22- Move in unexpected lines of travel; Don't move in a straight line (thanks cxool11)

23-Guide how to get ride of melee glitch.Eject your copy of Crysis 2, carry disc over to nearest micro wave, put disc inside & hit "defrost" Problem solved XD

24- If you energy is low find a good place to hide & wait for energy to regenerate (cxool11)

25- If you run out off ammo during fighting an enemy, instead of reloading switch to your secondary & finish them off!

Added Moarz!

26- Rebooting your Nano Suit Gives you exclusive CELL camo's

27- I find turning brightness below the barely visible line allows you to see cloaked enemy's much easier

28-If you run out of ammo, & are using a SCARAB or FY71 (only tried it with the too) Simply Find a Scar on the ground switch to secondary then pick up Scar & the Scars ammo will refill your empty SCARAB or FY71. Also whenever there is Scar ammo & you have Scar+ FY71 or SCARAB+scar it brings you ammo capacity double IF you have full Ammo in your primary (around 340 bullet) with Side pack & (240) without (works with loadout pro)

29- Crouching Improves overall accuracy & reduces recoil when firing

I had no idea that you can destroy CS pods, or that sliding to an enemy automatically melees them. Thanks!

How about some more interesting tips than the standard dos and donts..

1. Did you know you can do a melee kick when sliding :D

2. Soooooo many beginners move around so slowly, so static, its too easy to pick these players out - sprint in cloak around the map, when you're low on energy, find a good cover point to restore your energy. Give yourself a fighting change instead of running out of energy in the middle of an open area.

3. This is a tip in the game too but I dont see many ppl use it - when your primary weapon runs out it really is quicker to change to your secondary and continue firing rather than hope you can reload in time.

4. When you hear that the opposing team has launched an Orbital Strick on your 'location' try and move lol... as soon as you hear this try and identify where the strick will land and its path.

5. Dont try and be an arse n steal your teammates kills - this can lead to a situation where a second enemy approaches and takes both you and your teammate out (extremely annoying), instead try and protect your teammate and look out for other incoming enemies why not move a lil ahead to scout.

6. I find I only seem to die from grenades these days so I start using det delay - take a look at this mod if you dont know what it is already..

7. Travel in abnormal directions - get them angle boiii! You can really surprise your opponent if you know what you're doing. PDA_Metroid mentions flanking, def can be helpful but not really effective anymore against someone who knows that map.

8. I'm not a fan but Blind Spot can be helpful if you're struggling against a team which manage to get a lot of Max Radars.

9. Again I'm not a fan but proxy alarm, if you need to use it fine. If you're above rank 30 I would challenge you to try and not use it.. At this stage you should start to get a good feel of the maps and confident about knowing where enemies are likely to be located.

10. Don't use teammates as bait. There are plenty of people who simply follow a non-cloaked beginner waiting for an enemy to show himself - it is called TEAM IA after all...

I'm sure there are more that I can think of but thats fine for now.

Thanks Bro, I'll try & simplify some of these and put them in the Opening post if you don't mind
