Brotherhood, NV, and Helios

Yes, I do.

You, the player, have three options with Helios. Four if you consider ignoring the place an option.

1. Turn on power for Freeside and make Followers happy.

2. Turn on power to make NCR happy.

3. Fry NCR and activate the death laser, as part of Veronica quest or on your own.

Option 3 is what BoS was doing. Why, is this not a BoS quest? Why can't you do it on your own and report back to BoS?

Not only could the BoS take Helios and the NCR do nothing, but Hidden Valley would remain hidden, and death ray can be activated. What would NCR do? Pull troops from the dam? No. They don't have any positions that they can divert troops from. They can't even keep ants off the road, check out Nipton, or put down a prison break. Yet the 10 people at Helios are going to stop them?

But the main thing, is that YOU as the player can wipe out NCR at Helios, activate the death ray....and... do nothing.

It is a fairly logical progression, and it wouldn't change any of the endings to the game. You could still decide for whatever reason to wipe out the BoS, or ignore them, or negotiate an alliance with NCR.

And Brotherhood history is generally getting vengeance and killing people who attack and kill them, and from what I gather, NCR initiated hostility at Helios, as they like to take.

It was a failed opportunity for NCR haters to do something fun, and put additional pressure on NCR.

I'm sure Obsidian had plans with Helios One, but as is there curse they ran out of time. Seriously Obsidian always have grand ideas, but usually run out of time. This was also a problem when some of their guys worked for Black Isle. Time is the true enemy here.

Why was a topic specifically on New Vegas in the Series forum? Why is this even a thread when you could do this over PMs.

If you want to respond to a single person you might as well send a PM instead of creating a new thread.
