I'm newbie, so I don't know, is there any thread like this.
But i have a question (just one now, but may be more soon) - does alit have any eyes?

The Imperial Library used to have a bestiary section, but it has been removed for one reason or another. It hasn't seen a update since Oblivion, so its removal wasn't entirely unwarranted.

That being said, it would be nice to use this thread as a means to keep the number of creature threads to a minimum. Not that its been a pertinent problem like some other subjects round here.

http://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/1853lh/a_look_at_vvardenfells_noteworthy_creatures/ It's nothing special I'm afraid, and doesn't even answer your question if memory serves, but I would expect they have eyes, since they seem to have an eye ridge.

Skyrim has the books Herbane's Bestiary, which covers Automatons, Hagraven's, and Ice Wraith's. Admittedly, very little in the grand scheme of things.

Looking at the vanilla texture, I would say no to the eyes.

Someone, somewhere at sometime is asking a Hero if there is a fine on bestiality in Cyrodiil now...it is likely a Dunmer woman...

smooth move, although it simply has names and images, but there is also the UESP section that has a few notes- http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Bestiary

RE: alit, I always assumed they had eyes, just hard to see in the low-res ... but it would be interesting if they didn't, and just used scent or tremor sense instead.

The UESP has plenty of information about animals and monsters in specific games. I'm sure other online resources do as well.

I asked a TIL librarian about their decision to remove it, and their response was roughly that it doesn't fit the overall theme of TIL very well. TIL is focused more on lore, interviews and playthroughs.

Mostly that to get it to fit to TIL's standards is going to take a ton of really, really boring work that I didn't feel like doing at the time, and I felt that it's exclusion for now wouldn't be missed too much. If we find an assistant who is enthused by the idea of describing rats and bears for several paragraphs, it'll come back.
