The 36 Lessons of Vivec, an "augmented" reading.

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 6:12 am

Okay, https://soundcloud.com/rottendeadite/sets/the-36-lessons-of-vivec, read by yours truly, as a Velothi priest in a Tribunal Temple might sound. There's plenty of special effects and a few audio Easter eggs in there to find, but nothing too dramatic.

I should have the next set done in a few weeks, and the sum total hopefully won't take longer than another couple of months.

Let me know what you think!

This is pretty great, especially since I'm disagreeing with basically all of your pronunciations and somehow don't mind at all.

I may or may not have said "Praise Almsivi" after each lesson.

Yeah I know, I made some pretty controversial (and probably downright wrong) choices, but I'm not beyond going back and correcting them. But I'll probably wait until I get another batch down before I take stock of what mistakes were or were not made.

Please, though, feel free to list anything you think I've gotten wrong. I love feedback!

I, too, pronounce many names differently, but that's to be expected because English is not my first language... and it's fun to have many different pronunciations anyway. Kinda like dialects. What I'd change is "Chimer" and "Dwemer", though - to match MK's old guidelines of KY-mer and DWEH-mer.

Other than that... I L.O.V.E. the effects!! They really work well with the Dunmeri priest voice. I'm kinda jealous now because I just cannot seem to find a suitable intonation when I'm reading the Sermons... I keep slipping into a street urchin mode LOL

I don't think anything could be called wrong, because it works so well. the little pause between syllables in Chim-mer is so great I forget that I prefer Kie-mer. Other things are just me being pretentious, like pronouncing Kh-utta as ?-utta.

https://soundcloud.com/rottendeadite/sets/36-lessons-of-vivec-sermons-13. One more set to go, and then I might go back and give the whole thing a last spear-polishing.

I like how there was them ashlanders' wind chimes in the background, since those are my favorite sound ever.

Yes, we have the Love is used not only as a constituent in moods and affairs. I was unable to imagine how it could be read properly... now, I know. The " augmented" is really well done!

What will you do for the Scriptures of Number and Love?

Good answer. I'm listening to them piecemeal, but I'd say you've did a good job.
