CM Partners Issue

Post » Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:12 am

I'm using the tutorial to create a CM Partner for my game. I've got the Oblivion.esm, CM partners.esm and .esp and also my partner .esp open that I've just created.

I go to the Face tab and there's no face (from the partner I copied from). I didn't think anything of it and hit Generate to bring up a new face, and it crashed the CS. When I went in to look at the other CM patner faces, there's no face in any of the tabs - I also checked the other NPCs and there are no faces either in those characters' tabs. I'm sure this is why the CS is crashing.

I checked my steps but I must be missing something to be able to display the faces in the tabs. Does anyone know what I'm not doing correctly? Thanks.

I may be wrong on this, so don't quote me, but I believe if you are activating the CM .esp and your own .esp it could cause a few problems (nothing that could potentially crash the CS, but, then again, the CS isn't known for being glitch free)
I recommend getting whatever resources you need from the CM .esp file (script) and moving it to an external place (such as a notepad document), then load up the Oblivion .esm and CM .esm and your .esp and see if that changes anything.

OK Well. I opened the CS and only loaded Oblivion and CM .esm and cmpartners.esp. I still cannot see the heads. I think I need to post my problem in the Construction set area. Something's wrong...

Could a Moderator please move my post to the Oblivion CS forum AND fix the post title to "CM Partners Creation Issue" and subtopic to "Face Tab in the CS" if you can? Thanks.

Are the heads not loading at all? Does the full body view work?

This problem resolved itself. I clicked on Advanced tab and the face shoiwed, then I clicked back on Face tab and it was there. Really weird. Anyway working now.

That seems to be a standard work around now...for Win7 64-bit...I think...
