Good RoleplayImmersionRealism Mods

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 2:51 pm

As soon as I rebuy Oblivion for PC, I want to roleplay a new character using Alternate Start. She will be a Khajiit named Ra'Zida, and she's basically an incredibly wealthy merchant that rarely steps out of her comfort zone, except to loot Ayleid ruins.

Any mods recommended to add better merchant interfaces, more immersion and realism and other stuff to make an obese travelling merchant cat fun/realistic to play?
Thanks!

Right. Never really trust these sights while using an iPod, but I'm sure nothing bad will happen.
Thanks again!

Enhanced Economy certainly. You might also try http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/21104 and http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/4387. And you'll have no problem actually becoming a fabulously wealthy merchant if you use http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/39255.

Copy/pasting my post from a similar related thread:

A good thing to do would be to install http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/26389/. This mod allows you to mark your Map Markers with various notes as to whether it is featured in a Quest, has Locked Doors/Chests you haven't picked. whether it contains a particularly dangerous enemy (very useful if you are using OOO/FCOM) whether you have completely cleared it or any other kind of label you might wish to attach to a particular location. It also has options to hide all map markers until you have discovered them, and also have those newly found places not appear on your map until you either pay a guard a tip for their map knowledge or visit previously known locations where they will then appear on your map. You can also disable fast travel and even remove the "You are Here" pointer. This mod makes travelling around Cyrodiil a much more immersive experience, you'll find yourself navigating via local landmarks to know where you are and where you are going.

Artorius.

Thanks, everyone!
I'll probably be playing OOO as well, so try and keep the mod suggestions with compatibility limits. :)

Sorry for double-post. Just bumping here.

Need more good immersion mods. Something to fit the character I want to play: an obese, travelling Khajiit merchant (female).

Please leave what you thought were good realism/immersion mods in this thread. I need them. Thanks! :)

Perhaps http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/29564/ varied body shape mod will suit your game.

I'll mention a mod that gets far too little recognition, http://lovkullen.net/Emma/Packdonkeys.htm (creators of Companion Vilja). What adventurer worth his or her salt would travel without some means of carting off hard (?) earned pilferage? These beasts fill that role very nicely, and can be configured in a number of ways (such as carrying capacity) to make them either more or less realistic.

You might also find some that appeal in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/931523-roleplay-replay-a-randomly-generated-job-mod-list/ of a similar nature.

Thanks, everyone! I'll be sure to use most of these in my next playthrough.

Getting them all to run together without having the game crash every five minutes will probably be a pain...

'http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/37013http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/3701' completely overhauls the body type system for all characters. However, it requires clothing and armor conversions, which were processed and available on a personal web site: which unfortunately is no longer accessible. The author did make the mod available if anyone wants to pick it up:

The release thread is 'http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1208685-relz-vorb-vadersapps-oblivion-real-bodies-thread-2', and while the forum profile says the author was last active 23 Feb 2013, their last post to the thread was Aug 2011. Sounds like they have moved on. Too bad as it is/was quite an interesting mod.

Whether you want to have anything to do with it in that state, is of course up to you. But a PM might get you access to the authors converted clothing collection (which was pretty extensive last I saw). At least now you know about it and can make a choice.

Thanks! I might send a PM as soon as I get Oblivion for my new computer.

Just a question on the hunger/sleep mods, how obtrusive are they? Are they annoying, or do they make the game more fun in a realistic way? I like realism, but if it makes the game annoying to play, then I'm not sure I'd want it.

I find them not obtrusive at all.

Basic Primary Needs is highly customizable, and the same author has a camping mod that adds purchasable tents for sleeping while in the wilderness.

Awesome! I'm all for realism!
Hunger and sleep mods will hopefully enhance my gaming experience!

All of these are compatible to OOO? And how hard are they to install?

EDIT: Will visual/sound enhancing mods be worth getting? What mods do you recommend?

All of Maskar's mods are nearly entirely script-based and are compatible with essentially everything.
