Official Patch 1.9 bugs and glitches

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 10:08 am

I'm with you on this. I wish I could afford a PC that could run Skyrim so that I make use of the unofficial patch fixes. My current computer would only run it on the lowest graphic settings.

I think Bethesda is not getting the message that they need to do better on fixing bugs for consoles, because people seem to keep on buying their games no matter what. You're right though, the Elder Scrolls games are really awesome if you can deal with the numerous amount of bugs that come with them.

Actually I have the large hard drive Xbox, with multiples of Gigs free. I clear my cache often, sometimes twice, three times a day depending on how hard I've been playing, and frankly, I haven't see this particular problem before the 1.9 patch. And, I've seen it on most of the dragons that have spawned since the patch. If no one else is seeing this, then perhaps I will have to delete the upgrade and redownload to see if that's the issue. (What a pain!)

And this is a good reason to do a little metagaming and not pick up any quest item to a quest you don't intend to complete because you will live with the quest item in your inventory forever. I just wish they'd created a quest-item category so that you never had to look at the stuff unless you wanted to do so.

ands that's the problem buddy, eyes used to blink before 1.9, and now you can even find some npcs sleeping with their eyes open.

earlier today i noticed that the ingame year in my menu screen wasn't there. this happened when i got the dragon shout south of riften. i reloaded but had it happen again on solsteim. it's now visable but it disappeared for thos couple minutes

I also noticed a very bad bug with the deathbrand helm that applies the 100 + bonus even if you aren't wearing the armor set. I currently have the thieves guild chest, gloves, and boots equiped and my armor rating jumped from 216 to 342 and the helms rating went from a 58 to a 72. The rest of the pieces also jumped, my theory is that the ancient knowledge perk is causing this to occur.

What I mean is, I never noticed it and I have been playing Skyrim for over a year now, lol. Even though I am sure that my character's and NPC's eyes were blinking pre 1.9, I just never gave it any attention. Never looked for it.

Sounds like somebody cut some corners to try and make this one work 1.9 that is, have noticed timer problems interfereing with save on transport, save on wait, and the save every 15 minutes runs between 12 and 20 minutes, cleared out the the first 2 (trnsport and wait saves) and left the last at every 15 minutes so far no glitches or crashes after 6 hours straight and since it was every 4th or 5th transport or wait or sleep cycle that's an improvement, lips and blinks still out of sync and the tecture stinks except for Jordis which actually looks like a real person on occasion...

There is this problem with a "Graphics Jump" that happens very often. wide white gap from left to right during fights, so timer problems would also cause this in the graphics portions...

so maybe something for someone to look at...

Wow.... wait what? You rarely encountered Dragons!? I drowned in them. Every time i would fast travel to an other place, there was a random dragon attacking me. It was damn annoying and I'm glad there are less encounters with dragons now. I can finally travel to Dawnstar without being attacked by a dragon >.>

Getting attacked by dragons frequently keeps the game interesting -- in fact I always go looking for them. When you're level 84, you need something to put up a good fight. But I digress. For me the most annoying glitch I've encountered with 1.9 is the fact that if I'm inside Severin Manor in Raven Rock, the game hangs an average of 4 times upon attempting to exit. Which mean I need to restart the system 3-5 times just to get out.

On the positive side (don't know if this was intended as part of the patch or a random side effect), I finally got the Reaper to spawn in Soul Cairn and was finally able to activate the "No One Escapes From Cidna Mine" quest, which was fun because the guards were harassing me for committing crimes I didn't commit and wouldn't be bribed or persuaded. After I killed all the Markarth guards in two different instances, I decided to roll with it because of how persistent they were.
