Vampire attacking towns still exist -.-"

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 7:00 pm

yes ladies and gentlemen 1.9 has come and my and your wish (probably) has not yet come true vampires still attack towns and from lively towns they become graveyards in mere seconds or days ugh

I want to get your thoughts on this ONE AND ONLY persistent bug that continues to make Skyrim users mad about Dawnguard

and if you were on the QA testing team what would you suggest

me? i would have a Dawnguard agent come and save the town common sense right? (it's not going to happen by the way just saying)

fun fact 1, it isn't a bug, and no matter how much you kick and scream abut it, it will never be one.

fun fact 2: Vampires only attack at night, so, unlessy ou go outside at night, you wont have NPcs die. I quite literally played the game from level 1 with Dawnguard installed, and only started the Dawnguard questline at level 20, and had ZERO, re-read that, ZERO NPCs die from vampire attacks in the meantime.

The claim that vampire attacks turn cities into ghost towns is pure fiction, that, or, really bad players, which is really only your own fault.

Beth usually doesn't put out patches for DLC. The reason has been discussed to death many times before and I'd rather not bring that up.

Also, vampires attacking towns is not a glitch. It's an intended feature. The problem is when civilian NPCs that are obviously incapable of fighting decide to fight anyway, instead of running to the nearest interior or hiding in the shadows and allowing the guards/capable fighters to handle it.

They only attack at night? Huh, kinda strange then, while at Riften stables I was attacked by 3 vampires at 11:30am (in game clock). I wasn't even doing any missions.. was putting armor/weapons away at my house. Glitch?

It's not a bug if it works as intended. Meaning you are suppose to have vampires attacking randomly. Btw, vampire attacks were nerfed with Dawnguard. They hardly do any damage with their lightning bolts. If you don't believe me, uninstall dawnguard and get one-shoted by a real vanilla Volkihar vampire that used to hang out with a thrall. No matter what level you were those things were scary.

Vampires do attack during the day sometimes, however, this was likely not intended to happen. It may be due them spawning during the night and not de-spawning when the sun comes up.
As previous posters have alluded to, the 1.9 patch was for the base game and does not directly address any issues with DLCs.

Question why wont they patch DLC but will patch the main game? It's crazy indeed. So you mean to tell me that if a quest that is on a DLC is bugged it will never be fixed?

This is what a lot of people seem to think. The company has not officially commented on whether they will fix the DLC or not. People who know a lot more about programming than I do, claim the only way would be for the company to re-submit a fixed version on Xbox Live. This means that you would have to delete the bugged version and re-download the new one. Nobody knows for certain (except Bethesda) whether this will ever happen though unfortunately. It would probably cost them a lot of money and I don't know whether they would be willing to spend it or not, but I sure hope they do.

If they never fix DLC there should be a list of do's and don't in each DLC quest, like a revised game guide for the DLC. It could be a physical form or a downloadable guide on their website.

uhh yea they do spawn during daytime a lot actually...now having looked into this i think it may have something to do with fast travel, i seem to get more attacks during daytime hours when i fast travel then when i fast travel during night time its really interesting..i think this backs up what black Pete was saying about non spawning correctly when the sun comes up.

not a bug
just because it annoys you does not mean its a bug
thats called being an annoying whiner
the vamp attacks can be annoying, but they work as intended and can be dealt with in a way where they avoid most towns
its a vampire invasion, so just go deal with the problem or dont download the dlc until your ready to tackle it

Easiest solution is to join the vampires, the worst you get then is a few weakling Dawnguard soldiers who get destroyed in seconds and aren't hostile towards your NPCs.
