I really want to keep the Jarls where they are.

If I don't do the Civil War that should be fine.

However if I do the MQ there is a part where things can still get switched around as far as the Jarl's are concerned. Is there any way to do the MQ and have all the Jarl's remain where they are? Particularly I like Morthal and plan on being a Thane there. I really don't want to change the Jarl there, and to be honest I'd prefer all of them stay put.

It's been a while since I did the Season Unending quest, but as far as I recall some switching of Holds between the Imperials and Stormcloaks is inevitable.

However, if your main concern is Morthal: You don't have to give that to Ulfric.

Riften and Markarth are the ones you can't avoid.

Well ok. If I do the MQ I'll just be sure to avoid changing Morthal then.
