Did the forsworn quest for the first time

That was crazy. I've done many quests in this game but this one just took me for a ride.

Are you talking about the Forsworn Conspiracy/Escape Cidhna Mine quests?

If so, then I agree. At the end ...

Spoiler

I hate to use this often overused word but it was epic and one of my first memories of Skyrim.

Is the a 'good' choice in the quest though? you can either side with a corrupt nord family that wants all the silver or a bunch of savages.

Side with the savages, then go to their hide out and kill them.

The whole point wasn't that either side was good, the point was that no matter which you choose by lore the forsworn will be more driven to take the reach because they either have a king or a martyr meaning we might see references of the reachman taking the reach or attempting too in future lore.

Actually there is an even better way:

Side with the Forsworn up until they give you the armor, then attack Madanach and kill all the other Forsworn. When you leave, Thonar gives you his ring and becomes killable so the Forsworn don't cause damage in Markarth and Thonar becomes killable.

I have to say that the quest was poorly executed.

I think this quest was very well crafted, so many twists and shocks - I didn't know there was more than 1 way to do it either until I read all the posts above.

Yours and mine both. It's one of my favorites in the whole game, though just like most quests it doesn't really matter who you side with. Nothing really changes which svcks since all of Markarth's population of Nords (even the Jarl) ends up dying when I go through it.

Remember doing this after ending up in Markath Diabelas temple because of a drinking game :)

Then done I returned to Whiterun, next time I run into forsworn I believed they was friendly as we fought together in the city, well I believed it until I got the reload menu.

It could've been done better. I end up killing 2 birds with 1 stone by killing off both of those blood thirsty fanatics.

Alas, the only friendly ones will be the ones at Druadach Redoubt. And they don't even have dialogue. :(

My current character just went ahead and told Madanach straight up that he was toast, transformed into a werewolf and beat the stuffing out of him. Left the other prisoners alone, even though they die anyway for some reason.

I have no love for the Silver-bloods, but at least my character's name is clean now in Markarth. You get sympathetic remarks from Markarth NPCs after all is said and done if you just frag Madanach without any chicanery.

I hate this quest, for a few reasons. 1. It's forced on you, if you're not careful. If you manage to escape the guy trying to force you into this, he hangs outside the only inn forever. 2. You get a bounty forced on you. And the 'Total Lifetime Bounty' stat will permanently say 1000. My good characters don't murder people who don't diserve it, and my evil characters are far to skilled to get caught. 3. Rewards are garbage. No matter which side you choose, the reward items have no unique enchantments, and the enchantments that they do have are weak.

I turned into a werewolf in the mine, killed everyone, then killed Silver-Blood after he gave me his ring.
