Morrowind 4 Kids still around?

Post » Tue Apr 06, 2010 2:57 pm

Hi, I was browsing http://www.morrowind4kids.com/, and found that it just stops at 2004. Was it canceled, or was it released, or what happened to it? I tried the DL link on here site for it, but it does not work. Does anyone have a version of it that they can upload, and does anybody know what happened?

The download for the BETA http://morrowind4kids.com/ kinda works. But it seems to always load a html file. If you installed internet download manager, you can right click on the link and click download with IDM, and change the extention to .ace instead of html. It will ask you if thats what you want to do. Confirm that and it will download ok. Tested it out at my end and its installed and working as far as i can see

Hope this helps :)

I tried the Balmora color change section and it changes all of the Hlaalu sections. Nice work!

Brash has stopped work on Morrowind4Kids. All MW4K files were sent to redwoodtreesprite in 2007. As far as I know redwoodtreesprite has not done anything with them either.

Working on it again. :)

I am almost done with an empty Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon landscape esp. Just gotta finish removing the travel and door markers and remove any scripts and such that are Morrowind story specific and such.
Gonna reshape the land some and then repaint parts of it.

Sorting everything out to recreate all of the MW4K landscape and cities and such, and will try to also include the Dragon's Breech beta mod in it as well, with a lot more added to that.

I hope to have a very early base esp playable version in a couple months that I will keep adding finished areas to as I go.

I have a copy of MW4K Beta but I'm not sure that it is the latest version although it does have plenty of new stuff. Perhaps I can upload it if anyone knows the final permissions for it?

Also, kind of on topic, does anyone know of a download location for http://brash.iwebland.com/mw4k/chocobos.html or http://brash.iwebland.com/mw4k/haunted.html by the same author?

Edit: RWTS, I didn't see your post when I started typing mine :)

Chocobos are coming, never fear. :)
But the Haunted Chocobo Castle was not finished or released.

This must have started when I was still only browsing the forums for specifics and not wise enough to look around or join up.. I've heard MW4Kids mentioned in passing a few times, but I never really knew anything about it. Now that I understand it, I wish you luck treespirit. :) I can see now why there has been so much passive aggressive interest in it.

Not to be pushy about it or anything, but since I am newly aware of it, I would like to get my footing when it comes to this project. As production on it stopped in 04' much of it is dated. Is there going to be an effort to get it up to date with other zany areas, implementing interesting mods and coding fixes for save stability and the like? Basically in the spirit of what it was trying to do at the time? (I see many of the old greats in those screens) Or is the plan just to finish it up and release it more or less as is?

Interesting I just now learned of this, but I wish anyone who is or will be working on this soon the best of luck! : :D

I'll be recreating it on the new empty world esp, which I will take a cue from Dragon's Breech and make an esm once the areas have been painted. (Lady E and Proudfoot really knew what they were doing with Dragon's Breech. It is so easy to install and get going.)

And lots of updating of models and such that need updating, but so much of MW4K is good as it is. Like the buildings, many of the NPCs, plants and such. The creatures of course will have updated versions when needed, as there are those cute DB goblins and the wonderful live fabricant that lidicus did. The MW4K areas will feel like it does when playing the original MW4K. That is very important to me. It will be an area to visit, but I will try to also have the chargen area as an option to start from. So one could start from the MW4K area and then go explore other areas of the TC if they like.

So, will it have the original towns and such that was featured in the screenshots? The town seemed so much more alive and more fantasy like than morrowind towns. But anyway, Thank you soooo much for carrying this on and bringing it back to life! I really had thought it a dead project and lost hope, this is awesome!

Working on it again. :)

Great news! If there's anything either of us can do to help please don't hesitate to ask.

As I mentioned earlier, redwoodtreesprite is in possession of all existing files.

Haunted Chocobo Castle was a mod Brash was making to celebrate our wedding (the player would rescue an NPC 'Pseron' from the castle in time for his in-game wedding). When Brash decided not to marry me she stopped working on the mod. ;)

That's really cool! Before Children Of Morrowind came out, I used Generations, and loved it! I just loved the fact that the kids would follow the parents around. When CoM came around, I Still used it, partly for the fact of them just following the advlts around. It added the much needed young'ins to the game when it came out. I never thought morrowind would need kids until generations happened...
