my skyrim map is extremely foggy...

Post » Mon May 06, 2013 8:29 am

ok, for some reason... my map screen is just BLANKETED in fog/clouds... i've never seen it quite that thick, before... i cant even see anything!

i think it happened sometime after i went to solstheim, because i only recall seeing it like that once i visited solstheim and came back to skyrim at some point... but i might be wrong, and maybe it happened before that, i have a bad memory sometimes.

anyway, im just wondering if anyone else's map is especially foggy?

i kinda miss looking down at the world and looking around at all the rivers and the land, the cities, etc... but with this extreme fog, all i can really see is the throat of the world.

i've even tried using clear skies, then going into the map... but nothing works.

the solstheim map looks fine... not having any problems with that one.

It becomes like that I believe.

On my current character with no DLC installed, there isn't that much fog. My other character who has all three has an extremely foggy map.

I noticed though, in some indoor locations. The map will be clear as day with no cloud around.

The 3d map was probably one of the dumber design choices they made for this game.

"You what would be great, if the map looked really awesome but completely failed to act as a map in almost every way." Oh yeah, real great.

I've never had the map stuck continuously foggy like you say but it has been pretty cloudy for me from time to time. It usually clears up eventually, for all the good that does :P

Every time i come back from an extended trip to Solstheim the Skyrim maps is always really, really cloudy. I play on PS3 so i figured that had something to do with it. Is this on PC or what?

The 3D map looks pretty and all a fun to navigate but in the end would I prefer an actual map I can easily access without something constantly blocking me from what I am trying to look for.
