Problem with Auriel's Bow and Bloodcursed Arrows

Post » Tue May 07, 2013 10:40 am

Whenever I shoot bloodcursed arrows at the sun, nothing happens. I'm definitely shooting them at the sun and I'm using Auriel's Bow, but it's not doing what it's supposed to do. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

It's a really precise area you have to shoot them. The screen should dim to a slightly reddish color when you have it pointed at the right spot.

Ok, I'm further along in DG now. Just before entering the Castle to confront the vamps, I thought I would try the bow. It was day, but cloudy and I couldn't even find the sun. I just aimed where there was the most streaky light through the clouds, there was some kind of explosion and the trophy popped. Not at all difficult so I have no idea why you're having a problem, Alex. I almost wish I could watch people play so I can tell them what they're doing wrong. I guess on the PS4, with the continuous recording of gameplay, that will be possible.

I'm literally shooting it right at the sun, I can see a bright circle in the sky, and that's exactly where I'm shooting, but nothing happens

ah well, i guess your save data got corrupted somewhere along the way perhaps... see if it works ok on a new char... if not, you may as well try re-installing the dlc

How do I re-install the DLC? And will I loose stuff if I do that?

its simple, really. and i suggest selling your current bloodcursed arrows to any vendor first, just to be sure.

Go to the XMB menu, in the Game Data folder find a file named "Skyrim - Update" and delete that (do not run the game while you do that!)

Then, start Skyrim with internet connection enabled and download the latest patch

Quit the game, go to the psn, and re-install all dlc's you had (try to do that in the same order you first got them, just in case)..and be sure to NOT use the "Download in background" option!

load your save file, get new bloodcursed arrows and give it a shot

So will I lose any game data from the DLCs if I do that?

no, as long as you reinstall everything properly (and remember not to use the option to "Download in Background" in the PSN)

aye, usually nothing will happen, but on rare occasions it has been noted as 1 cause of various issues (not only for Skyrim, its more of the PSN issue i believe..or) not sure what percice action while dling in background causes this, or what exactly goes wrong inside the downloaded files on these occasions
