Alchemy problem

Not sure if this should be in the mods forum or here, but it's a problem with the game so I'm trying here to start off. If it's on the wrong place, can one of the mods please move it?

I'm trying to do alchemy with my character, but for some reason, since installing Morrowind Graphics and Sound Overhaul (at least, that was the last big group of mods I installed before this problem appeared) I can't pick up and use alchemy sets. When I click on them

For the first time when I take them out of my inventory, everything is fine; I can pick them up, use them and put them down again. But as soon as I leave my inventory, whenever I try to pick them up, the game casts what looks like a spell effect and doesn't move them or open any sort of alchemy screen. They also can't be picked up and moved; the game is treating every kind of interaction with them as this "activate" instruction, which doesn't actually do anything.

Has anyone else come across this and know what might be causing it?

You know, call me crazy, but it sounds to me like you're using Syclonix's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=2737. :ermm: Even though I'm not seeing it in your load list at first glance, your description of what's going on sounds just like the way the mod functions. Maybe it was included as part of another plugin?

Anyway, here's a little excerpt from its PES page to illustrate my point: "Instead of having to put your apparatuses into your inventory every time you want to make a potion, you can now simply "fire up" the apparatuses you wish to use by activating them." Your apparatuses giving off a particle spell effect is the bit that sounds the most particular to that mod to me. Also, the way the alchemy menu isn't coming up fits into this theory; I believe you have to activate all the equipment you want to use in addition to the mortar & pestle first, then you can activate the mortar & pestle in order to bring the interface up. And have you tried sneaking and then activating your apparati? That's the way picking your equipment up works with AHA.

If that's not what's happening, though, I'm stumped. :sweat:
