Riverwood Defence

Following a Topic in the General Discussion Board (which the OP has now deleted all his posts in) I had an idea for a small mod for Riverwood and I am completely new to the CK, so I was hoping for some helpful advice as I've just finished the tutorials and am slightly worried about destroying my game by mistake!

The Idea

The Jarl sends his men to defend the village, but what do they have, just two tents and a campfire outside the village. This just wouldn't suffice defending from a Dragon!

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8138/8701590902_884e53e5a3_b.jpg is a rough idea of what I plan to do! Although, I'm totally confused with the Navmesh! I'll be adding more Whiterun Guards to Riverwood, but how do I make sure that they no longer sleep in the tents and instead, sleep in the barracks?

Any help is much appreciated (and you will be listed in a "Register" of Guards in the Guard Tower) :smile:

EDIT 07/05/13:

So I want to create a new faction of Riverwood Guards. I've done this for a few guards in the Barracks, but how can I change the Whiterun Guards that travel to Riverwood to this faction too? I can't for the life of me figure it out

What if instead of adding more Whiterun guards, instead you copy the Whiterun guard, make them look exactly the same and have everything be the same, except have a new AI that has them sleep in the tents? Alternatively you could learn how to change their AI in game but that might be harder.
