I need help for a new character idea! I just finished a play through on my mage, and am looking for a new type of roleplay while I play on my other character on my quest to http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1457475-mission-to-clear-every-dungeon

If you guys have any ideas I would love to hear them!

Well you've got a mage now. Maybe balance out this with a character who's more melee weapon-oriented?

There's more than one kind of mage, too...

You've got your typical Destruction/Restoration/Alteration mage... Then you've got your Conjurer/Illusionist, who might not use Destruction at all... Then there are various types of Battlemage, with/without armor/weapons... Your Spellsword type, who uses magic to support armed combat... Your Alchemist type, who masters poisons and uses simple weapons to deliver them... Your "Mystic Archer" type, like Buffy...

Then there are various "restrictions" you can put on a character to make things interesting. My "Fitzie" character, for instance, is "nearsighted"; she doesn't see well enough to use any sort of targeted attack. A little thing like that changes the whole game.

Just a few thoughts. :)

I view a mystic archer as a character who relies on a bow for direct damage and magic for everything else. Restoration pairs up nicely with a bow because absorb health provides a fabulous close quarters attack if cornered or fighting underwater. Beyond that, illusion is very helpful for controlling the minds of foes and getting them to thin their own ranks. Another approach instead of illusion is conjuration to provide a distraction/helper. With a bow for ranged damage and absorb health for up close (when rarely needed), destruction is used primarily for weakness to poison, cooking dinner and chilling ale. With sound basic magical utility and restorative skills, alchemy is primarily useful for making poisons.
