Daedra and the Next Great War

Post » Wed May 08, 2013 8:40 pm

I have a thread going about bringing in three daedric races Dremora, Aureal (Golden Saints), and Mazken ( Dark Seducers) as effective allies of the humans against the Aldmeri Dominion in a Second Great War. For the sake of this discussion, we will assume that this idea is implemented and that they are added as playable races.

Further, we will assume that one condition for each race was that territory would be granted to each race from conquered Aldmeri Dominion territory as part (or all) of the compensation for their aid against the Aldmeri Dominion. Each race may receive control of a minimum of one city and maximum of one province. The races are Aureal, Dremora and Mazken.

For the poll question, if you think you would never be interested in playing a daedra, then skip the poll question and you can say that you would never be interested in playing a daedra in your post.

Which, if any, of the daedric races would you be interested in playing?

What territory should be granted to each of these daedric races and why? (None is not an acceptable option for this thread. Each race must receive some territory.)

As to actually fighting the Aldmeri forces, for this thread we will assume they are based in allied territory and not opening portals/gates directly into Aldmeri controlled territory. They start with the human forces.

What would be the best way to employ these forces against the Aldmeri Dominion?

None. The only way Daedra are getting involved in the war is if every conjurer this side of the Dominion gathers around and gets to those invitations..

Deja vu, I'm feeling it. :run:

I'd rather not play as a Daedroth (Daedroth being the singular of Daedra) because it wouldn't make sense.

Read the OP and try again. You aren't being asked if they can get involved or how.

Dedrea can no longer enter our world as far as I understand the Amulet of Kings. Akatosh/Martian defeated Dagon and sealed the channel forever, but the Dominion may be a wild card..a way to reopen the realms. That is, assuming their vaunted Dawn magics are not BS.

Except that is entirely relevant to whether they would be given territory or not.

Given the only way they can brought, en masse into Mundus, they won't be needing any territory to speak of.

I m thinking, there is no point anyway. Sheogorath = instant win

therefore his servants can take the summerset isles itself.

Lastly, there is NO NEED TO EMPLOY ANY FORCES. Sheogorath cast 'withershins' onto every soldier in Alinor, no need for war.

think about it.

Mazken and saints are allied with sheogorath. And who is the aldmeri dominion compared to Sheogorath. He instant win.

Not to mention the dremora are bad ass too. I reckon Dagon, if he could enter tamriel again(dam you martin), alinor will become the next scathing bay

That's not true, Daedra can still enter into Mundus because Oblivion and Mundus are one, it's not like how it is with Mundus and Aetherius. The only difference is they can't invade Mundus or attempt to merge their realms into it like Mehrunes was doing.

I don't have a desire to play as any of them. Were they to help destroy the Dominion I think they should get a nice barren island in the middle of the blue divide. That way the races that already inhabit those provinces aren't forced out because of Daedra.

We aren't looking for personal appearances by Daedric Princes, just their forces.

How would you award the territory?

I voted Dremora, though I don't know how I feel about playing as one.

I do know that when my people do get into their next major conflict, we will be all about summoning an army of Dremora heavy infantry.

That's fine. What territory would you give the Dark Seducers for their role and why? (It can be as little as one city or as big as one province.)

No race would have to be forced out. They would only need to accept that government of the given area is under the control of the race to whom it was awarded.

Eg:

If a Bosmer city (pick one), for example, was awarded to the Aureal. The Bosmer could still live there, they would only need to accept that Aureals govern that city.

I guess I'd like to play as a Mazken if I had to pick.

There needs to be an option for none.

I don't know if I'd trust Daedra to be in charge of anything themselves. I'd use them as foot soldier grunts, reducing unease amongst recruits taking orders from Daedra and hopefully sacrificing enough of them so they can't be a threat after the war.

If you are on a PC, then you can find mods for playable Dremora on Steam. Try one, you may like it.

As far as summoning them for the Dunmer (I take it), if they (these races) have territory in Tamriel , the Dunmer would only need to make a deal. :deal:

Read the entire OP. I have read your posts and you are not a fan of the Thalmor from what I can tell. Think of the scenario posed as an opportunity to stick it to them. :deal:

The poll is multiple choice. If I put in the three races and an option to not play any of them, then it would have to allow only one choice (or some joker would vote for none and one or more other ones thus corrupting the results).

Now that you have read the OP. What are your answers to the questions posed?

If I had to choose, I'd hands down pick the dremora. They almost defeated them once, they can do it again. Although granted that was largely due to the gates. I assume that the daedra can make large daedric ships since they made those big war machines, so they have that and just all around superior weaponry altogether. Not only that but even their fiercest warriors use magic as well. They'd be unstoppable. For that reason, if they could make ships, I'd send them straight to Alinor for a fleet invasion. But before that, I'd send them to Valenwood to start infighting and free the Bosmer who don't want Thalmor control so I can have a base for the invasion.

As for which territory for them, I'd give them Elsweyr to punish the Khajiit for so stupidly falling for the Thalmor's BS, I'd give the Mazken Valenwood, for no particular reason, and the Saints Alinor, because they kinda look like Altmer, lol.

I'd rather not play as one because I just don't see appeal to for, plain and simple. No desire to roleplay as a daedra. I'd rather kill them instead  Or banish. You know what I mean.

edit: to make it clear, I read it the first time before you asked.
