Would you join this RP? Children of Narsiym

Post » Thu Apr 08, 2010 8:26 am

I suppose now would be my time to post my sheet then. And yes, even if it is a disease goddess, it would have to be either aedric or daedric. And yes, even though calamaties are usually intercepted by opposing forces, there is always a mortal to put the events in motion. In the games, it was the PC, but here it is all of us. And possibly Carstien. All in all, there is no need to simply call an RP bad. You can offer advice, but just telling the creator "This will never work!" is not helpful. If you think it won't do well, then that's your beef. Thank you.

On a happier note, here is my sheet. I hope I do a better job playing him than I did last time :P

Name: Varber Geves
Race: Breton
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Sign: The Ritual

Class: Scholar
Major Skills: Mysticism, Conjuration, Unarmored, Reading, and Philosophy
Minor Skills: Politics, Judicial Law, Geography, Algebra, and Physics (He studied much in his father's library)

Physical: Rather weak and sickly, due in no small part to rarely ever exercising. He also rarely eats, speaks to others, or much else besides moping around. He appears as though he would snap if grabbed too hard.
Hair: Long, greasy black hair
Eyes: Olive Green, with dark circles under them from lack of sleep. His eyebrows are always downturned, giving him a melancholy, pathetic appearance.

Mental: A rather depressing fellow, he is constantly contemplating one thought or another. A frequent pursuit of his is the meaning of life and the truth behind the gods. He keeps his head down, literally, and although he can solve complex equations and problems with ease, he rarely shares his answers with anyone.

Armor: None
Weapons: None
Clothing: A worn brown robe

Biography: Grew up with his scholarly father, who impressed upon him all the standards he lives by. He was rather detached from the world by the time he was old enough to venture out into it, as his father never bothered to teach him all the normal things like morals. He was far too busy moping in his room to pay attention to his son.
He took his father's death without much emotion; he had never been very attached to the man. Likewise, all the political upheaval since the Oblivion crisis has hardly seemed to matter to him, being he was in prison for most of the invasion. He was charged with public disturbance and held due to the prejudice of the Legion.
He was later released, only to find the Imperial City in the first throws of the disease. He was evacuated along with his fellow survivors to the Legion's cave. He had been taken against his will, insisting timidly that he would stay and study the creatures. Regardless, he quickly grew to be one of the cave's main leaders, being able to solve many of the more practical issues with his immense knowledge. Of course, he only helps when forced, but when he does he can really get things done.

Fears: Never finding the answers to his questions and, strangely enough, his own death.
Goals: Solve as many questions as he can, including this new disease.
Interesting Fact: He once spent three months in a chapel undercroft, the priest having insisted that he must be touched by the Prince of Madness and chained him to the wall in attempts to heal him. He was finally released after a priestess finally told the town guard. He was later approached by several Followers of Sheogorath, and he had to turn down several offers to join them.

Thanks, and here's to the sucess of this RP :foodndrink:

I suppose I should put my character sheet up:

Name: Lt. Clementine Argrus
Age: 38
Gender: Female
Race: Imperial
Height: 5' 7"
Skills: Heavy Armor, Block, Long Blade, Armorer
Birthsign (because I forgot this in my PM to Walrus): The Lady (the +Endurance version)
Appearance: Despite her somewhat soft facial features, age is catching up with her as she reaches her middle years. Her face is lined with noticeable scars, the prominent one stretching an inch or two horizonatally across her left cheek. For a woman, she is quite stocky and muscular, the evidence of extensive training to build up the strength to wear plate armor and wield long blades.
Weaknesses: A skooma habit in her teen years left her with slight nerve damage in her left arm. Though she retains a full range of motion, she can't grip or hold anything substantially heavy for any length of time, and thus eschews her shields and weilds only her sword. The drug also left her mild paranoia problems.
Personality: She is a stern and fierce woman, but she kind and friendly to those she's assigned to serve with. She believes very much that all Imperial soldiers should act civil with their comrades. In battle, however, she is nigh ruthless and efficient, detaching herself from emotion so she may better serve the Empire.
Short Bio: Clementine was the child of middle class parents in the Imperial City. She was stubborn and rebellious as a teenager, and got into a lot of trouble. After several petty thefts and drug deals, she was finally caught with stolen goods and illicit substances. In order to avoid jail, she opted to join the Imperial Legion to pay off her debt to society. Though for a while the mix of her and the military didn't seem to mix, she eventually found the structure and discipline she needed, and became a career soldier, despite impairments resulting from her drug habits. She's advanced in rank over her years of service, allowing her access to some of the more ornate weapons an officer in her position could access.

She's never much believed in the Nine, but following the Incident of the Daedric invasion, she became a decently pious soldier, devoted primarily to the god Akatosh.
Equipment: Silver Longsword (steel if that seems unreasonable to you), full Steel Armor suit.

And here would be my sheet, approved by Walrus.

Name: Orson Ashcroft
Race: Breton
Gender: Male
Age: 37
Sign: The Lord
Legion Rank: Knight Bachelor

Physical Description: He has light brown hair that is slicked back, with a small portion hanging forward over his right eye. His eyes are equally brown, and have dark bags underneath. He had a semi-thick beard and gaunt cheeks. He's fairly muscular, as his position in the Legion would suggest, and is more than capable of some heavy lifting if need be, but presents that aura of nobility that would make people assume he would never sink that low. He has a thin, faded scar on his right cheek and another crossing his abdomen, which is not faded. Overall, he looked to be a very serious and driven man, not one to joke with.

Mental Description: Orson often acts like a man possessed. He was follow any order, no matter what it is, to the letter. He acts only with a singular purpose in mind, and while he is more than capable of deception, he will only do so to help accomplish his mission. Despite his rank, he is not a particularly effective leader, preferring to take orders rather than give them. That said, in times of crises, he is perfectly capable of taking charge.

If necessary, he will not hesitate to give his life or the lives of others for the mission and the overarching objective. Anything that gets in the way of that has no chance of living in his eyes. He's extremely cold and unfriendly for the most part, though those that have served for long periods of time know him better than most, and he may act almost friendly with them in times of ease. Once danger becomes apparent however, all pretenses of friendliness drop, and he becomes nothing more than another soldier in the crowd.

He feels that he has no time for relaxation, and is so driven is his objectives that he may go without sleep for days at a time while he works. Any attempts at helping him with this issue is usually met with passive hostility, which is to say that he won't physically lash out for interruptions.

Armor/Clothing: He has a special set of Legion armor from Morrowind, rather than the type commonly used in Cyrodiil. It was a gift from his wife, who was the daughter of a rich merchant. It's a set of silver armor, or rather would could be made from silver. The helmet and cuirass, specifically. The rest is a polished steel, though still of the Morrowind variety. The armor isn't terribly practical, and while being slightly lighter, it's also more fragile than the standard armor, and can't withstand significant force as well as steel.

Underneath it is a regular tunic and pants, both a light blue. It shows beneath his armor in places, giving it a bit more color than the Legionnaire standard of a dull gray. This tends to make him stand out.

Weapons: Similar to his armor, his sword is silver and made specially in Morrowind. The sword is a point of curiosity to most Legionnaires around him, as it's far from typical. The http://www.georgehernandez.com/h/xMartialArts/Media/Swords/scimitar.jpg is kept sharp at all times, and has seen heavy use by Orson over the years.

Bio: Orson grew up in the Imperial City and enlisted in the Legion as soon as he came of age. He didn't rise through the ranks very fast at first, and suffered five years as a trooper before meeting a man named Lucius and receiving a promotion alongside him after a daring feat of valor. He refuses to talk about said feat. Several years after the promotion found him married to a young woman named Monica, whom he loved dearly. She was the gem of his life, and he was obsessed, bordering on paranoid with her safety.

His paranoia was proved justified in the worst way when, after finishing a particular mission with Lucius, Monica was assassinated. Someone had shot a crossbow at him, but missed and hit her instead. Though not killed by the shot, the poison on the tip insured a long and painful death. Orson was sent spiraling into a deep depression, barely registering what was going on around him.

He eventually recovered, after the death of Lucius, but was never the same again. He radiated a sense of danger, and everyone was careful to avoid him, fearful that he might snap. When the infection hit, he was assigned to Admiral Faurus, and has remained with him since. He personally carries out all orders for the Admiral, and often throws himself into unnecessary danger to do so.

On a side note, glad to see you're getting into more of the TES RPs, Ribbotson. Means I'll have more opportunities to rp with you, since my participation in the Fallout ones appear to be an interesting rarity...

@ Walrus: Would have PMed this, but for some wierd reason, it says I can't PM anything t'ill Aug. 4

Alright... thinking about a character now. Can we have a survivor character which isn't part of the army? More of a citizen? If so, where could he be from? Finally, I don't think I can create one tonight... Gtg sleep soon. I promise I will make one tomorrow or after-tomorrow though.

Did you send a message right before, or try to send it more than once?

Answering your other question, I did. So I'm guessing you can too.

I've just been accepted, here's my character sheet. Cheers Walrus.

Name: Peter Covantus

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Race: Imperial

Clothing: Basic green tunic, sack pants and sandals.

Armour: Steel cuirass, iron greaves, steel boots, iron gauntlets and iron shield.

Weapons: Steel longsword.

Misc: Leather drinking bag filled with water, food and bandages.

Appearance: Medium long brown hair, brown eyes, 6'1, medium build, clean shave and small scars on his torso.

Personality: He's that friendly guy, always ready to give a helping hand when needed. He has a slight addiction to alcohol which can make him a bit angry at times. He is known to be brave although he still does have his fears. Likes to crack jokes every now and then and he's prone to laugh out loud, whenever he gets the chance.

Bio: Peter had always lived in the Imperial city, rarely venturing out. His parents were quite wealthy and pushed Peter into getting a job in politics. Peter's older brother had joined the legion and for that he was greatly admired. Peter wanted to be exactly like his older brother, not only because he looked up to him but because he craved the attention of his family and friends. As soon as he could he joined the legion and became a guard on the outer wall of Imperial City. His parents were both proud and disappointed.

Peter spent most years on the outer wall before applying for the cities Imperial Watch. He managed to secure a job, although he still didn't see much action. He helped take down small crime rings and thugs, nothing major. One day, Peter and a few other members of the watch were investigating rumors of a small bandit hideout, down in the sewers. By this time the plague was spreading fast but it hadn't hit the Imperial city.

The watchmen traversed deep into the sewers, but there were no signs of the bandits. Since they were so far down they had to camp for the night. They awoke the next day hearing the faint screams of people from the surface. The plague had hit the Imperial City. Peter and the watchmen ran towards the exit but before they could reach the surface they found an Imperial Soldier in a heap crying. He told them of the horrors of the plague and said that they had been over run on the surface.

Although Peter and the others were devastated, they knew their best bet would be to stay down in the sewers. After a few days of traveling through the sewers, they managed to find the fort. They joined the group of survivors and prepared to hold off the horde of plague victims.

Hey Aussie, fancy seeing you here!

And Walrus, I'm not sure how good an idea it is to wait it out for more people. Lots of people usually still mean only a handful of players willing to stick it out, you just have more at the start. Plus there aren't all that many people around right now anyway. Vacations and getting ready for school start and all. You certainly have more than enough people for a decent start now. Probably about the average player count, maybe one more.

There I was wondering where everyone from the fallout section went. I check out this section and I find you all. It's good to see you again. Unfortunately there is a lack of Rp's and Rper's over in the fallout section so I came here. My first TES Rp, so I'm excited.

I'm also going to agree with Ambrose. Having an abundance of Rper's is hard with the different time zones, people might go to sleep with only a few posts written, then wake up to find a few pages up. To keep up people have to write smaller and smaller posts. Eventually everyone begins to do this and you end up one a bunch of one liners.

By no means am I having a go or trying to control how you do you're Rp's. It's just a friendly suggestion :) . It's up to you how many people you want and either way I will 'fall in line' so to speak.

Cool. I'll have to make a post tomorrow though. Don't have the time to make an in depth one anytime soon. Gotta get packed up and head back home from work soon, and then I'll be going straight to sleep. Been an exhausting day.

You can start anywhere, really. The meeting is in a room at the top levels of the fort, which is upon a rickety wooden/iron building set up on top of the cave, and extends down into the darkness. Just explain what your character does and how he gets to the room, or if he's already there, what he's saying to the Admiral or whoever else is in the room.

Personality: Zared is a very intelligent khajiit, more so than what many give him credit for and generally underestimate him. While mostly out spoken and out going with allot of energy while one downside is his lacking of charisma. He also has a tendency to hold back on the use of his magic, as for why he doesn’t really know.

Background: Zared was born to a single mother in Elsweyr, whom had been the willing consort to a vampire elder. He was raised alone by a foster carer when he had turned 4 looked after his unique needs. Following this, when Zared became a teen he was taught the use of magic and the blade, learning his preferred weapon the Bastard sword or as they are commonly known Hand and a Half swords. Zared, being a born half vampire has inherited many of their traits, both good and bad.

- Enhanced reflexes, strength and speed: Generally affected by his ingestion of blood as well, say if he has fed within the hour he would be at peak.
- Extended age, his life expectancy is extended quite abit.
- His body will eventually start to turn on itself if Zared hasn’t fed for about a week or more he starts suffering from weakness that gets more severe as time goes on, his abilities degenerate and so does his body. Eventually it can kill him if he does not get any form of blood be it animal or humanoid.
- Weakness to Silver
