Oblivion running slow as turtle

Post » Thu May 09, 2013 10:07 pm

Hello everyone!

I am in serious need of help because, as the title says, my game is running pretty slow at some areas..

let me be more specific.

First of all, here is my Load Order:

Spoiler

Here's the thing... I start the game somewhere in the wilderness and the game is a bit laggy but playable. But when I entered Bravil (Blood and Mud version), my game kept freezing for 5 seconds or so, and the came back only to freeze again. Yes, i did install the 4gb patch and oblivion stutter remover.

I used to play this game with similar mods a few years ago with a worse PC than I have now and I never had this problem.

I am guessing it might be the SDR since I didn't use it a few years ago and now I have this problem.

I am still play testing and installing a few mods at a time, and haven't tweaked oblivon INI with the guidance of the Tweakguide site

My pc specs (as far as I remember, since I don't have acess to it right now):

i3 2100

HD 6950

The rest I don't remember...

Thanks for the help!

Do you use BOSS by any chance?

Yep! I use OBMM / BAIN / MANUAL for installation and the BOSS sorts everything for me. Afterwards, I rebuild the bashed patch, as recommended by this FCOM installation guide: http://www.oblivionmodwiki.com/index.php/FCOM

I see few mods that are missing compatibility patches. For i.e you need Oblivion Warcry and the FCOM patch to run the FCOM install together. Also I see you installed TIE. TIE and FCOM are not compatible unless you have patches for it. If this doesn't help much then try installing the less enemies or no "enemy" type option from the FCOM archive. It may be possible you have too many creatures spawning and your computer cannot handle the load. Remember that this game is not designed to be multi-core cpu friendly because it's an old game now. Most of us will recommend not to mess with Oblivion.ini except select few options.
