Character Height Question

Post » Sun May 12, 2013 1:59 am

I just gotten back into Skyrim and I had read how Height is apparently the factor that determines movement speed and can affect attack damage. Is this only if a character's height was modified to a more exaggerated level, or is there ANY sort of difference in the original game (such as the normal High Elf being able to outrun a Wood Elf). Or is it so insignifigant that a mile race would make a difference of 2 feet distance?

Apparently, the taller you are, the faster you run and the higher you jump.

Technically, Altmer and Orcs will run faster and jump higher.

Taller races run faster, but it's not a significant difference. You might outrun some followers, but that's about it.

I'm not sure if they deal more damage, I remember someone did an experiment and it seems that this rule applies only if the character is scaled to a different value than the default 1 - so not in vanilla game.

Orcs are taller.

I know that taller characters will run faster, but I'm asking if, wth the default values, will a High Elf be able to run faster than a Wood Elf to the point that it's noticable, or is it more like a 0.01mph difference.

Even if your Bosmer follower was 8 feet taller than your Altmer, you'd still leave your follower in the dust thanks to the crappy pathfinding of the followers.

I doubt you'll notice a difference between the running speeds between the various characters you make though. I sure haven't.
