Fallout 4 Speculation Suggestions and Ideas #121

Post » Mon May 13, 2013 6:17 am

This topic is for ideas and suggestions for Fallout 4 so that we can keep all the discussion in one thread. At moderator discretion, threads about specific and distinct topics as they relate to FO4 and the rest of the Fallout series may be acceptable in the Fallout Series forum. General idea/suggestion topics for a future Fallout game will either be closed, or moved to this one.

This thread should be used to discuss items you'd like to see in a future game, gameplay tweaks, quest ideas, things you hope are not in the next game and so on. If you want to discuss major issues, use a separate topic - such as the discussion about adding multi-player or co-op play, which already has a thread. Please search first to see if there is an active/recent thread on a particular topic.

http://www.gamesas.com/user/15304-ccna/: Something to note. Discussions of Child Killing is not allowed on these boards. Don't even bring it up in this thread. It won't happen in any future game from Bethesda, so there is no reason to even discuss it. If you post about this subject, you may be Warned and or Banned from the boards for doing so.

This is also not a thread to discuss current or past Fallout Games, other than to mention an aspect of the game you want to see included, or not included in a future Fallout game.

2. What about graphic adventures?

3. Those are all people that either know you well or have spent time with you. Doc Mitchell just spend all night putting your skull back together, and you think he wouldn't feel some kind of connection?

4. Even if you had the information yourself? Also, you keep talking about what YOU would do, but not everyone is the same as you.

5. You don't know the future.

I would like to see #121 be about peoples ideas and less about people fighting over peoples ideas maybe we can work together and come up with somthing good I know just for saying this I will most likely be trashed.

The followers reveal information to you as their trust increases.

Try getting Bokne to talk about his wife when you first meet him. He will tell you nothing, and no amount of speech skill will get him to reveal info. Same with Veronica, Gannon, all of em.

Making comments about that makes me question if you actually played the games.

FO1 timed MQ patched out. Yet, in the boxed set of the first three FO games, which can still be bought in stores, has the original timed MQ.

And there are other timed quests in FO1 other than the MQ. There are also timed quests in FO2.

Now, I don't think the MQ should be timed. But side quests can be. Side quests can be ignored completely in the game, and ignoring some of them can carry consequence, or missed opportunity. But to take time out of your MQ, to explore the world, and you meet an NPC who gives you a quest that carries a sense of urgency, and if you ignore that sense of urgency, you should face the consequences. Removing theconsequence removes immersion and makes the world unbelievable.

Not the whole of it, but parts of it could be (in the branching way, not necessarily to produce a game over). It would give the main quest the feeling of importance and urgency, because sometimes time shouldn't be at the players leisure (as in triggering the timers through opening ignorable sidequests that have 'em).

Sorry man but this is the 121st thread, every idea good and bad has already been stated. We "argue" to keep this forum alive, really its more constructive criticism than anything.

It would be nice if the same mechanic that won't let you wait or fast travel if enemies are near would also prevent you from making weapon/armor repairs and/or using doctors bags, reading books/picking locks.

Also have the waiting mechanic apply to repairs/doctoring to represent time spent, as in FO1 for first aid/doctor
