Dead Bodies Still Have Armor

Post » Mon May 13, 2013 8:02 am

HI I am just a normal kid trying to play skyrim. No backstory or anything... yet. The problem im having is that my parents have a problem with the fact that when you take the armor off of dead bodies, they are pretty much in their underwear. is there a way (such as an option in the main menu) or maybe a mod that makes it so this doesn't happen? I REALLY want to play this game, and my birthday is coming up....

It's an M-rated game that doesn't even have any nudity. If it would upset your parents, then they shouldn't let you have the game.

Agreed. I find it odd that there isn't a stricter age restriction on these forums now that Bethesda is pumping out M-rated games. It made sense to be more lenient back in the days of Morrowind, but that was a long time ago.

no they already know about it, what im trying to do is make it so that they don't object. I know skyrim can be modded, I just need the people when they die to keep their armor on (or rather, look like it) even when I take it off them.

And when you take armor off people in skyrim the are shown without the armor.... or is it different for pc?

How old are you?

I could understand if you were younger than 10 or so, but if my parents were objecting to me seeing images of people in underwear then I'd probably sit them down for a little chat.

im going to turn 14, so you could see why they might object... is their an age restriction on this forum? I might have put in the wrong date if there is... but anyways is there a mod that would do such a thing?

What I don't understand is why it's the fact that they're in their underwear that offends the parents so much. Why is killing people not a big deal to parents but seeing human anatomy is?

To stay more on-topic, the closest thing to a mod that would do this would be an underwear replacer that covers more skin, but I haven't seen anything like that. Usually modders are interesting exposing more skin, not less.

Honestly, I think your best bet is to show them you're mature enough to play the game. I don't see why they'd object to underwear but not violence.

Off the top of my head I can't think of any mod that does this. Perhaps a mod that prevents bodies to be looted at all could do the trick?

hm... well my answer would be that you pretty much cant get a whole lot of games these days without some sort of violence and death. and also there are mods (as far as I know) that can take away the blood. However, theres a difference between violence and sixual gratification. I know im mature enough, but theyre worried, and I cant say I cant blame them, as its a valid concern. but anyways, th difference is that you know that its a fake game and that killing in a game is different than in real life. however, sixual gratification is sixual gratification. if my mind were perverse, I could intentionally choose to gratify myself with those images, or other sixual things in the games (such as the fact that some books contain sixual content in the game, but that's another thing entirely that ill have to deal with). And the imagination is a powerful thing. but I know I wouldn't do those things. If it came down to it, im fairly sure I could convince them, but id like to find a mod that erased the problem, rather than just ignoring the problem, which would bring more peace to them.

it would, but I know you can get some good items off of dead bodies, especially right at the beginning of the game, where you need it.

ok in case anyone comes upon this thread and wants an answer, I found something that might work: the Clothe Dead Bodies mod. it allows you to replace the armor you take from dead bodies so that they aren't left in their underwear. it might be cumbersome, but it would work, I think.
