Seekers and Mora have gotten alot darker...

Seekers are servants of Hermaus Mora, tentacled horrors of Mora. Pretty creepy right? After reading this little passage, these things give me chills.

"Morian Zenas described to me an endless library, shelves stretching on in every direction, stacks on top of stacks. Pages floated on a mystical wind that he could not feel. Every book had a black cover with no title. He could see no one, but felt the presence of ghosts moving through the stacks, rifling through books, ever searching."

Ghosts ever searching threw books? Look fammilar?

That thing is doing what is described in the passage? Are seekers corrupted mortals, that were lost on there pursuit of knowledge and dark secrets?

If Seekers used to be mortal... I wonder if Lurkers used to be "mortal(s)"...

Pretty creepy thought..

In the end, it seems Hemraus Mora is much better corrupting morals then any other prince.

I always thought the Seekers are just Mora's daedra. Just like Mazken and Aureals are Sheo's. But then, I could be wrong and we don't how they originate first.

As for Seekers being mortal, Oblivion is known to do weird stuff to mortals so maybe... maybe.

That's kind of subjective though. If we are talking: "corruption through subtlety" then Herma is indeed the winner.

If we are talkiing: "corruption through force" then Molag Bal is unmatched.

In some parts of Apocrypha the Seekers are semi invisible black clouds which move around at really fast speeds, making them look like ghosts seeking knowledge.

If you get to close, they become visible and attack.

Its an interesting idea that Mora turns Mortals into weird Daedric servants

Just what is it about Oblivion that transforms all it's exposed to into Daedra? Is it because it exists outside the realm of limitation? It's strange, because the Loveletter says that the echo of Oblivion is mortal death. Yet everything exposed to it seems to become immortal.

I think it takes more than just being there. It's circumstantial. I don't think standing around in the Deadlands will transform you into a Dremora. Where as relishing in the wealth of forbidden knowledge of Herma's library will change you.

Well, Durnehviir's status seems to suggest that any long period of exposure to Oblivion will result in your form becoming bound to it. He tells the Dovahkiin that he has been in the Soul Cairn for so long that his spirit has become completely bound to the place, effectively making him Daedric in a sense.

This. They were daedra mistaken for ghosts by the author's source.

The Soul Cairn isn't exactly a "normal" realm of Oblivion. You also have to take into account that Durnehviir made a pact with the Ideal Masters. The place is deadly to mortals. The only way for the player character to enter is through soul trapping, or Undeath/Vampirism.

Entering any realm for a extended period of time isn't good for your health. Mortals going to the Shivering Isles go mad, Apocrypha leaves nasty symptoms that Neloth goes on about (And that's assuming you haven't ensnared yourself to begin with), the Carin will svck away you're essence, and it probably doesn't get any better from there.

No doubt Oblivion can change and corrupt people. But that doesn't necessarily mean every realm will 100% corrupt someone. There's many factors to consider.

Azura's realm leaves her followers half blind, and seeing only haze (but that part is probably due to all the skooma smoking from the khajiit)
