About the DLC

Post » Tue May 14, 2013 8:54 pm

I just return back to this forum after like few months (after finished dragon born)

I keep see posts mentioning no more DLC. Is it official or just rumor? I think I remember last year the official announcement say there will be more DLC to come

Oh never mind, after some more intense search and digging into lot of pages I found this

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/04/15/no-further-skyrim-dlc-planned-team-moving-on

I guess it is done. It is a by shocking and disappointing as last DLC is kinda short and was hopping for something big.

Thanks Bathesda for Skyrim that I have spent over 500hours on it, it is a great game (beside lot of bugs and kinda badly design of the faction quests but still it is a great game)

I will be looking forward for that next project and hope it will be another fun game to play with.

Hmmm I wonder is next one fallout 4 or elder scroll 6 or something new? Anyone got a time machine I can fly into the future for it?

It's very likely they're working on Fallout 4. What else could it be?

TES VI, but that is very, very unlikely.

I highly highly highly highly doubt, they're already working on the next TES game or even plan on doing so. It will be a while before we see another one. Besides, good news, more Fallout for once. And perhaps some more work from Obsidian considering J.E. Sawyer still shows an interest for another game.

I still wonder why they stopped making Skyrim Dlc.

Maybe it didn't sell enough?

because they wanted to work on their next game. I also think The PS3 DLC issue is also to blame.

I don't want bash any platform but unfortunately this might be at least a major reason. They really struggled to get the DLCs to work on PS3 and apparently they still cause performance issues (or so I've heard). Additional DLC might have worsened the issue.

Sounds more like a beth issue than a PS3 issue since almost every other company out there can consistently release DLC on the PS3 in a timely manner with no problems.

How many other games like Skyrim are there? It is issue between game tech and PS3. System resources of PS3 are insufficient for memory hungry games like Skyrim.

Oblivion was perfectly fine.

Probably because it wasn't ported by beth.

Sure it was. Had a few bugs, lacked some of the dlc, but aside from that it was fine.

So those numerous freezing issues don't count? OK...

Regardless that is moot point. Skyrim pushes both consoles over the limit. Even Xbox suffers from lengthy load times which DLC only make worse.

My PS3 version of Oblivion had no freezing issues, and even the PS3 version of Skyrim froze no more than the Xbox 360 version. But they were talking about Oblivion.

Just because you didn't have any issues doesn't mean they don't exist.

Ive said it many times before, bethesda was dumb for this decision, they could have had a small team set aside to make a final DLC to flesh out the plot holes left in the game, and made some massive money from it, but instead, they left the game half finished and moved on. Which makes me SERIOUSLY worry about the next game released by them. They may see this as an "ok" move, and do the same thing with the next fallout or TES.

I'm pretty sure they have a team working on the next ES game. I would be rather surprised if a company as large as Bethesda only worked on one game at a time.

It's gotta be Fallout 4 so to think it's the next TES is just foolish. Bethesda did a weird thing yesterday and uploaded the Fallout 3 trailer to their YouTube channel and disabled comments. That seems a bit odd to me.
