What Do Jills Look Like?

Post » Thu May 16, 2013 5:58 pm

I imagine Jills to look something like http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/207/b/5/Golden_Akatosh_by_Crazy_Cat009.jpg. A mass of divine flame and light, gathered in the form of a dragon. Though the forms of the Jills would, of course, be more subtle, more graceful, slimmer, sleeker, more feminine.

Either that, or they're ethereal, argentum moonlight, gathered into a similar shape.

What do you think Jills look like?

Hundreds of multi-purpose appendages for gathering up and stitching together the frayed fabric of reality, and dozens of eyes (think like Durnehviir or the legendary dragons, only multiplied several times over) to catch errant timelines.

Or they're Feathered Serpents, an inverse of our usual dragons; Bird over Serpent rather than Serpent over Bird.

Whatever they want to, jills are simply spirits who serve Akatosh, that they take a dragon form is probably out of respect for the god they serve, but in truth, they can be anything, and look like anything, since they are spirits.

Oh, incidentally, I should make sure that our one written description of the Jills is in the thread.

"A 'jill' is an archaic term for a female dragon. The minute-menders would take on a suitably draconic form."

Don't let it restrict you, though.

Jills = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eakKfY5aHmY, constantly dissolving and coalescing into dragon-shape. Each moth bears a fractally-detailed representation of a dragon face on its wings.

Moths. Pshh, they're boring and are already used for something.

I like the idea of a weird Paleozoic-Eastern Dragon Shaped-Fish-Thing, which swims through the air

They look a little like all the king's horses and all the king's men.

I've always imagined them as being infinite beings made out the threads of possibilities, constantly coalescing and diverging as they tie reality back into a neater chronology, that both resemble their more common dragon brothers and look absolutely nothing like them at the same time. If you look at them sideways and from above a little, you'd see that they also sometimes resemble Daenian lace, scruffy Chimeri prosttutes that no longer exist, and the fundamental concept of teatime when the mood strikes them. Jills only bother to take a more draconic form because their true shape would melt the subconsciousness of mortals and that just makes their work unnecessarily harder.

A bit more dragon-y

A bit less angel-y

Now, make a fusion of that in you mind... and there you go
