A Wilderness Poll

I included only characteristic regions in the Tamrielic province of Skyrim. don't factor in:

  • Random encounters, dragons included. Encounters with native creatures and people are not considered random.
  • Dragon mounds. Tempting places for a traveler to visit that prove the folly of him/her should be considered.

If possible, explain your choice with character-specific experiences. Lore/geographical evidence is fine.

The regions generally correspond to the holds they represent. A tenth option is there, because most maps [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Map_(Skyrim)] show that holds don't claim the northern shore as part of their territories. Very special regions (Throat of the World etc) are not included, and should not be considered.

I personally like Falkreath's area, specifically during a Sunrise :)

None... really more than the others. They all have random encounters. But I'd say the Reach, with the Foresworn are rather nasty. Then again, no region is too bad with the general enemies. I just think the Foresworn are a little bit deadlier than the average Bandits.

You'll get [censored] destroyed in Winterhold. Any creature with the prefix "frost", "ice", or "snow" in its name, turn around and haul ass. Just do it.
