Texture mods or not?

Post » Sun May 19, 2013 4:22 am

So, I want to reinstall Skyrim(after finals, I still want to graduate :P)

But I have a (sort of) dilemma; should I use the High Res Texture pack of Bethesda, or a pack of a modder(and if yes, which one)?

Maybe you guys can enlighten me?

PS: Performance is no issue, I have a high-end gaming pc.

Also, any other suggestions on mods would be greatly appreciated.

Virus Imperii and Opulent Outfits for starters. Assuming you get Dawnguard, I'd take http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28014//? too.

Btw, should I use Skyrim Redone, STEP or ASIS?

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/607/? is better than Bethesda's High Res DLC IMO. Skyrim Realistic Overhaul is my favorite texture replacer, but you'll have to Google it as it's not available on Nexus. Also, check http://testg.wikidot.com/ for an overview of texture replacers.

ASIS. The others simply change too much.

Thanks, I guess I'll go with Skyrim HD.

Ok, ASIS it is then. I remember now that I once tried Skyrim Redone, but it was too big of a change, so you're right. It's partially why I stopped playing Skyrim, as I had too much mods and didn't enjoy the game anymore. Mods are there to improve, not radically change(IMO).
