Why are dragon priests so strong? even on Novice

Post » Sun May 19, 2013 4:19 am

I like that they actually take some effort to kill, most other enemies you slap around for a bit then are done with it plus it makes them hold some merit over their former glory. Dragon Priests should he strong, at least difficult, I mean they were supposed to be all powerful servants of the dragons, known and feared for their power and magic. If they were as easily killable as a draugr that would be pretty sad.

To be fair the Order of the Worms are also revering Mannimarco as their god and he seems to have a hand in the Lich transformation. The soon-to-be lich in Oblivion claimed that Mannimarco told him the secret

Of course it will affect future games. It already affected Skyrim.

It's funny because the first time I fought a giant he hit me once and I flew up in the sky and came back down like tarhiel from morrowind lol. Dragon priest aren't super hard, im playing on master difficulty and I fought one of those and a dragon priest, and man did I get slaughtered lol. They are hard on novice depends on your level, what your using as a weapon, and armor. One thing I can tell you is you whoop his ace in a few seconds lol.

However the enemies in question are not level scaled, unlike everything in Oblivion. And there are other unscaled enemies too.

They have selective hearing, but they do listen

And in the game i've got, i ran into a level 66 Skeleton Overlord who used Ice Form shout around level 10. I still beated it. ...Eventually. Hiding from it's shouts, using ranged weapons, using the level geometry to my advantage :hehe: (The puzzle pillar room in Ansilvund).

You are technically doing the exact same thing with mods, they do more elemental damage to you. Except you get an extra 100 percent magicka regen.

One step forward, two steps backward. It's a rocky road. And yet even Skyrim's DLC show progress compared to the main game. No matter what mistakes Bethesda makes, we keep coming back for more and we love it. Puzzling.

Yeah but like to choose my birthsigns according to my character. Also the mods that I use do far more than just crank up the damage Dragons do. One of them changes their AI and you get knocked back/down if a dragons flies by close to you or lands or takes off next to you.

Tahts kinda coo, although, I use the apprentice stone all the time anyway with my mages, makes my magicka regen super quick.

"Ohhh... I have mastered the riddle of Steel, I am like a Conan/Dovahkiin crossbreed! I am unstoppable!!!" | *Krosis pops out of his coffin* | "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!"

Yes, Dragon Priests, Wispmothers, Hagravens, Forsworn Briarhearts (even an average Forsworn can give you a good whooping, if you go in just like that), Snowy Sabercats, a couple of dungeons containing unusually strong bosses etc, are some of those things who can -and will- make you wish you had prepared better, even on novice

Learn to embrace the challenge, skyrim is not that hard a game compared to most other rpg's - even on master or legendary.

If the game didn't make you angry or frustrated at times then it isn't worth playing.

And may I ask: What did you expect, mortal? When you look upon the glory of one of the few Dragon Priests "alive" today, you look upon the pinnacle of Nordic ingenuity. A time where the Nords were an enlightened race. You look upon the few that surpassed what was expected of them. So much in fact that the Dragons respected them, and bestowed upon them the majestic gifts of Alduin, son of Akatosh. Dare I say, you look upon the finest mankind has to offer. Aye, what all men should aspire to. Until you accept Alduin as chief of the Divines and forsake the heresies of today, you will be nothing more than food for our magnificent children of Akatosh.

Nothing more than heathens for the Priesthood to rightfully cast down! Heed not the savage and misguided words of the likes of Ulfric, savage King, and other like-minded nords who may as well be classified as goblins. Heed the words of the Dragon Priesthood, Aam fin Sonaanne, zul do Alduin!

It is much more than that. We were practicing necromancy before it was mainstream. /Hipster

Our Lichdom is unlike that of traditional necromantic rituals as laid forth by Mannimarco, King of Worms. We gain immortality through the unending worship of the Dragons. Our power is fueled and channeled through the unending worship from the Draugr. The Draugr gain their immortality through their worship of us and the Dragons. Their ritual sustains this intricate balance.

And now with the return of glorious Alduin, the power of the High Priests is renewed to our near apex. It is with their return, we now sustain ourselves. We now walk the holy halls of our temples. And soon we will purge this land which is ours, from the savages that infest it today!

Alok-dilon mid aare do ALDUIN! Alok-dilon sahrot Draugr! Alok-dilon revak ahrk onik Sonaanne!

Because like most savages of today, you are hot-blooded. The mask serves a crucial purpose that most take for granted. Complete immunity to all diseases and poison. It served it's purpose keeping me perfectly healthy when I was yet still a mortal. It insured that I would thrive against the cruel forces of nature. It allowed me to serve my Lord Alduin without the set-backs of mortal concerns.

I was free from the binds of mortality when I was just a mortal.

Immune to poison it made me. Trickster, evil Valdar could not poison me. He had to improvise and imprison me with a ward. A fickle plan, for I live yet. And soon I will break free. Who are you to judge the effectiveness of my mask now?

Use followers at low levels as they serve as good distractions for your enemies. Also Trevor > Michael

Werewolf? You are but a blight upon the land. You will not bask in Hircine's barbaric realm for you will be consumed by Alduin in his return.

I just want to say that it was the dragon priest you get the fire mask from, and he had dragur deathlords around him so I was screwed either way. I always do this, I don't save because it takes 5 minutes to save on my PS3 so I get lazy and end losing a hour of gameplay and probably won't play until June now. I might even uninstall the game because I need the space for other games as I got a 37 GB PS3. -_- - Skyrim is annoying game when you die, Oblivion was funner--except for that damn vampire glitch.

edit: my level was 52.

edit 2: re-read post...

Karstagg WTF LEVEL 90? I would get 1 hit-d - I faced the dragon priest that had the fire spell mask and he ws tough with his deathlords minions!! and yes skyrim makes me mad as hell, i might even uninstall game before i break disc.

The defeat of Alduin is but an illusion of which your mortal eyes cannot comprehend. He is infinite.
