Collision issues with a clean install, no mods

Post » Sun May 19, 2013 9:12 pm

I've posted this in the Steam forums as well to get some help:

Like the title says, I clean installed my entire Skyrim game files, including all cfg files and folders within the AppData locations. I've been playing a new game for a few hours and some really bizarre things are happening.

Slamming object sounds within inns
Random teleporting when talking to the Jarl of Whiterun
Random objects being flung around for no apparent reason
Corpses in jain cells being flung across the scene when opening the cell door

I have all the DLC installed as well. Are there some conflict issues going on? I've never experienced so many strange behaviors, even when the game first came out.

I'm running NO MODS whatsoever. NO CFG tweaks made either. COMPLETELY VANILLA with all released DLC and hi res texture packs.

Any help is appreciated!

Mine is modded so I can't help with the clean part but you could try the unofficial patches maybe they really only fix bugs. Since Dragonborn came out mine has been really stable I used to have CTD almost every hour before.

Did you disable vsync in the config? If yes re enable it and cap FPS to 59 with something. I run MSI AB for the fps limiter at 59 fps. 60 is not as smooth and sometimes the FPS jumps a tad above even with the games v sync still on and the fps limiter to 60 especially on loading an interior cell which causes decorations and items to have the effect you mentioned.

I will also fully endorse the unofficial patch even if that is the only mod you are going to run it is well worth it.
