Howdy, I just finished Dead Money and I went to recruit Veronica because I wanted to finally trigger her companion quest, but something weird happened. Ok, so I gave her Elijah's Last Words and then asked her to join me. After taking a few paces, I get a popup saying that she left the party and traveled back to the 188. Upon asking her (and any other companion, for that matter), the same thing happens to me every time. The companion joins, I take a few steps, companion leaves without me commanding him/her to. So I guess I can't have companions now. Is this a bug that can be easily fixed, or do I have to redo Dead Money?

Here are a few factoids if they help any.

1. I used the 'movetoqt' command to teleport to [a quest on] The Strip because I forgot to get Long Haul and I was extremely over-encumbered from Dead Money.

2. Veronica was my companion when I dismissed her before entering the Abandoned BoS Bunker.

3. I tried to use "resurrect 1" > "disable" > "enable" on Veronica. Didn't work. I also tried restarting my laptop, which also didn't work.

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I just loaded a save just before I beat Dead Money. I finished it, offloaded all of my gear in the bunker, and hightailed it to the Mojave Outpost. I tried recruiting Cass and the same thing happened to her. Darn.

EDIT 2: I loaded a save from before entering Dead Money. Companions work. Either I'm missing something here, or I have to replay Dead Money. Or get that one cheat mod that "skips" Dead Money.
