Problems with scenes getting "stuck"

Post » Tue May 21, 2013 6:09 pm

OK, I have some issues that I cannot figure out, and I'm just wondering if this "threading" I've seen mentioned could be part of the problem. What is happening is that my actors randomly seem to get "stuck" for lack of a better word, right after they have been in a scene. A rudimentary example goes like this:

Bob and Jim have a few lines of dialog in a scene between each other, and after the dialog has finished I have a setstage in the end box of my scene data utility. The scene plays and the dialog runs, and it updates the stage and objectives. This objective would say "Talk to Bob"

But what is happening is that when you go talk to Bob, he acts like has no valid dialog, even though the proper stage has been set to make his dialog valid. I've even seen it happen that when you go try to talk to him, his last line of dialog from the scene pops up in your subtitles. This has happened to me a time or two talking to Tullius if you interrupt his convo with Rikke. Usually a hard save right there and reload fixes it, but that's not happening to my users. They're getting stuck.

So I'm just wondering if there is something that is getting bogged down in the engine or something making this happen. It's really frustrating for me and my users.

Also, I've gone in and tried to put in falisafes in the stages I set with a scene that have MyScene.Stop() in them on the scene that set the stage. But even that appears to not be working to fix these actors getting stuck. These rarely happen to me, but they do happen for some strange reason.

Mods, could you kindly move this to the Creation Kit forum where I thought I was posting, lol.

I've got WAY too many irons in way too many fires right now, sorry!
