DLC playing order

Post » Thu May 23, 2013 2:37 pm

I'm a long time New Vegas addict and recently bought GOTY editon for Fallout 3. Thus I have a few questions:

- Is there any recommended playing order for the DLCs (like in NV)?

- Do they grant massive amounts of Exp upon completion to the point it would be gamebreaking to play them before the main storyline?

- Do they have any kind of level requirement/recommended for playing?

Thanks in advance :)

The DLCs in this game have no preferred order.

BOS comes after the MQ so you will play that when you get there. (if you use any Race Mods, known as body replacers, you may need a mod to make the MQ ending work)

OA is the one that you can generally do first and it's almost entirely a VR Sim in the game.

Pitt is kind of challenging in that you start over with your equipment, so I would avoid that one until you about level 15 to 20. It can be done earlier, its just much tougher.

Mothership Zeta can be done about any time in the order. It plays like a Puzzle like Dead Money does.

Additionaly, Point Lookout can be visited anywhere in the sequence. I usually save PL for last because of how ridiculously powerful you are when you get back to D.C.

Generally, on creating new characters, I'll pick armor and weapons that I'd like to have. I'd play that correspinding DLC that contained those armors/ weapons first so my character will be equipped for more of my game.

The only recommendation I have is to lower your expectations substantially.
