Fallout New Vegas Continued Play?

Post » Thu May 23, 2013 12:18 pm

I know with Fallout 3, one of the DLC's gave the player the ability to continue playing after the main quest completion. What about New Vegas? Does it even exist? Or is it a part of the Ultimate Package? I really want to know because I'm tired of starting over at the beginning and want to continue playing with the toys' I've already collected. If not; I wonder what the possibility would be for a patch to this effect. Any one out there with a solid answer on this topic?

Officially the game ends with the main quest, but there's http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42428/?tab=4&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D42428%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D396269&pUp=1 It's not perfect, but it lets you continue the game.

If you're on console your chip outa luck...

Cant you just save before the end?

Hell there is a big box telling you that you're about to cross the point of no return.

Legitimate question, but you know you can choose to not do the final mission and play around all you want right?

But there is only 1 big box that takes up the full screen for 30 seconds we can't skip warning us of no return how are we meant to notice that?

Yeah. True. However when New Vegas was released, it was with the understanding that it would follow precisely the same pattern of release as Fallout 3. That Pattern of release included with the final DLC a continued play patch. Yes I am on a console. No I am not amused by developer failings'. A simple patch would make many fans of the console version of the game feel a little better. Basically. From a Fallout perspective. Buy an incomplete video game. Or. Buy food, water and munitions' to survive the up and coming; "Real World Wasteland".

I disagree, I'd rather have the game end than another broken steel, especially because I usually insert the FEV into the purifier and broken steel makes your choice meaningless.

And who said it would come out with an ending? New Vegas not having play after the end isn't a failing. The reason why there isn't play after the end is because there are so many possible endings and it wouldn't be a matter of a "simple patch." What if you played as the Legion and took over the Mojave? There wouldn't be any other factions but for the Legion. Copy and paste for all the other possible endings.

Also are you even aware there are other Fallout games besides Fallout 3 and New Vegas? All the Fallout games end BTW, even Fallout 3, but Bethesda caved and slapped on Broken Steel which breaks Fallout 3's whole plot. Fallout 2 has the option to do a for fun play after the end that isn't canon, but there is really nothing to do once done.

Also as been said you can completely avoid the main quest line and even if you want to do some of it, there are many options to undo what you did. Play Lonesome Road and at the end you have the option to have your reputation with every faction reset to neutral as if nothing happened.
