Stealth Inconsistency And Other Things

Post » Thu May 23, 2013 10:24 pm

Hey all,

I came back to the game these past few days, hoping that the patch has fixed an inconsistency that has bothered me a bit.

Q1. Why is it that stealth is very easy indoors, but realistically harder outdoors even at night?

Indoors, you can even sneak up to a Falmer and he would never notice.

Outdoors, with the same maxed out sneak, if you are in the line of sight of an enemy, he will detect you and try to move closer.

Can any mods shed some light on this?

Q2. Is Destruction magic still underpowered? If yes, have the devs ever explained why?

Regarding stealth, I seem to remember someone mentioning that it was due to how the game handled lighting, as in the game considered you to be perpetually in cover/in the shadows when indoors. Not really sure why but it's definitely easier to sneak indoors. Falmer are a special case though because they're actually blind.

Destruction is well... going to remain unchanged for the foreseeable future. Best if you leave that can of worms unopened or do it in a separate thread

If you are in his line of sight, then he should detect you. I haven't had issue with Sneak, in fact find just the opposite. I mean... broad daylight and jumping up and down in their face remains hidden.

Destruction.. I mean, given you can dual cast for 235 damage a pop. That's on par with a Daedric Warhammer. Work on your Alchemy and it will add another 400 to that for 60 seconds.
