A little backstory:

Ever since I started Morrowind, I loved being anyone who did magic. And when you are a mage like character, what else is there to wear? Robes! IMHO, Morrowind has a neat selection of robes. I have had really awesome combinations of shoulder pieces and robes for my Nightblade, Monk, etc.

I use MGE for my native resolution, but then tried to see if HDR would work as (at the time I thought) Morrowind did not have any HDR in terms of a bright sun. Nothing succeeded, but I kept seeing people with and without MGE that have the HDR effect from the sun/sky. Even in screenshots too. I was baffled but just kept on.

One day, curiosity killed the cat. I researched on why my semi-vanilla Morrowind was not getting the vanilla HDR. I thought maybe it was because I have a newer system (I had to get a sun fix mod because the sun turns black on newer systems/AMD cards). I started a new game with MGE deactivated to see if the "no sun" effect was there. All of a sudden, there it was! I was baffled once again. Okay, maybe it is my save is bad from corruption, bloat or whatever.

Again, I went on my way since I did not want to start over solely because of a "damaged" effect on my save. Still curious, I came across http://www.reddit.com/r/Morrowind/comments/15h2lz/experiencing_a_strange_sun_glare_problem_with_my/ over on Reddit that was the Holy Grail of my crusade...the problem was my character wearing a robe? Wait, what?!

Once again, for the third time, I was baffled. I took off my robe on my current save and the world was lit up again! I could not believe how simple yet bizarre it was! Now the real kicker is that I am too accustomed to robes and now that I know what is going on, I was hoping someone knows a fix if possible (Since it is a engine problem). I have the unofficial patch as well as the code patch (which I did not see a similar option in it).

I really like to wear the robes I find without this happening. Try it for yourself if you do not know what I am talking about (Wear a robe at daytime, look up, now take it off, and look up again).
