Missing presumed Married

Post » Sun May 26, 2013 5:47 pm

Hey sorry if this has been brought up before but I couldnt find anything on this character.

My character married the dark elf from whiterun but foolishly I said I would live with her , What can I say miss clicked now when I goto find her to take her new mansion lake view I cannot find her anywhere.

I have checked riften, back at whiteun etc but no sign of her. I am on the xbox so unable to locate her with any code etc. I am hoping that if im lucky some bandit might find her and kidnap her or as I am a vampire I will get asked to turn her but so far no luck.

Any ideas?

Janessa lives in the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun, if you said that you would like to live in her home check there, she should be there. If not then it will take a reload of an earlier save file, or you could try waiting a month in-game and see if she returns to Whiterun.

Lol

I'd bet you ain't got the guts to say that to the misses, I know that comment would land me in the werewolf house for at least a week. Or more importantly I wouldn't get my " lovers comfort " bonus

If she isn't in the Drunken Huntsman, try checking the Temple of Mara.

Most spouses that you choose to live with at their home will have to walk all the way back, making it possible that she dies along the way.

The only way to solve this is probably reloading a previous save.

I'm pretty sure RL Haggar hasn't been married, so he doesn't even know what he's talking about.

Or isn't that so, "Tiger"? ;)

(All I know is that if you have kids, marriage saves you from a whole lot of bureaucratic trouble if anything should happen.
Also, it's nice to have a wedding ring... Wait, where did I put it again? :))

Agreed.

Anyway, if you're on the PC, another option is to use the "moveto player" or "player.goto #" commands. The "moveto player" command requires the NPC to be targeted, or that you use the "prid #" command. The # in both "player.goto" and "prid" commands refer to the 'ref. ID' of the NPC.

It's useful even if you don't have children. Tax benefits, property and inheritance rights even without a will, social&medical security and disability benefits for spouses, family leave to care for your spouse during an illness, immigration and residency benefits, the right to make medical decisions and so on, and so forth. A whole lot of stuff people don't think about until they find themselves in a difficult situation.

Absolutely. I know of at least a couple of cases where the "widow"/"widower" has been homeless due to greedy relatives when their partners died unexpectedly. :( In one case, children were involved, in the other not.
